Baby modelling (please don’t judge!)

Hello ladies,
For a bit of fun, after a few suggestions from others, we’ve submitted our baba to a few agencies. Does anyone have any experience with London-based agencies? It’s hard to tell which ones are legit. Pixie accepted baby but not sure it’s as good as Kids London and Bruce & Brown etc which we haven’t heard from. Would love any thoughts!

I don’t think any are legit really are they?

selfishjeanss · 24/06/2022 21:43

My (now adult) daughter was with Bruce and Brown and they are completely trustworthy. Most jobs she had, the other kids were from Bruce and Brown and Kids London. They’re both very good.

mintich · 24/06/2022 21:45

Bruce & Brown and Kids London are legit! Pixie have high fees, I'd avoid them

Just to add, look on agencies websites for who their clients are. You should see brand advertisements with the children rather than ‘agency’ photo shoots.

Thank you everyone! Does anyone have any experience with any others? :)

We knew a few who were very happy with an agency called Grace and Galor also.. there are also acting agencies who have some modelling too - from babies.. can’t remember the names though sorry

Dorset2 · 25/06/2022 17:40

My daughter is with Bonnie and Betty. Kids London, Bruce and Brown and Grace and Galor are all reputable. Never heard of Pixie but maybe it’s a new one? Urban Angels is also good and Rebel 19 x

lollipopsandrainbows · 25/06/2022 17:47

My daughter is with Kids London, never had any issues.

shellyjules · 24/07/2022 19:24

I applied to B&B for my LO and got a call back the next day. I missed both their calls and so they emailed.

Cinnabomb · 24/07/2022 19:25

Out of interest, why do you all chose to do this? Genuinely curious

olderthanyouthink · 25/07/2022 13:26

I skimmed and most of the ones mentioned here are legit, just avoid anyone who wants to do a test shoot/portfolio or wants a tonne of money (I think bonnie and Betty were around £120, that's probably about the max)

@Cinnabomb someone's baby is going to be in the pictures, why not yours and they can ear a bit (or a lot) of money for it. DD had one job and was just getting a lot more casting when covid happened.

We stopped when it became clear she wasn't suited to it anymore despite being very small (looking younger than they are is better) and photogenic and errr interesting looking (blonde hair blue eyes is kinda the opposite of when most at looking for)

Haven't done it with DS because I couldn't take DD with us and there's no one to look after her

shellyjules · 25/07/2022 18:48

Definitely not something I'd want DS to take seriously, and not doing it for the money. Doing it for the experience, professional photos that I don't have to pay for and the opportunity to spend time and work with LO.

hi all,

After having spent a lot of time reading forums and other news online, am left very confused about child modelling agencies. Some have mostly bad reviews which makes it easy to filter out but others have mixed reviews and people on forums confirming they are legit & their kids have worked with the said agency.
So, its a confusing mix of good legit agencies, legit but not great as they take too many kids on their books so chances of getting a job are less and 3rd category is proper scams.

My dd has been accepted to the below and here are the fee they are asking for registering on their site. Appreciate your feedback on the below agencies please and if your child has recently worked with them or currently working with any of these:

  1. Elisabeth Smith - upfront joining fee £195 + photoshoot with their recommended photographer ( I have seen mixed review for this agency & they have been in the business for a long time)
  2. Bizzykidz - £75 upfront joining fee ( I have seen mixed review for this agency & they have been in the business for a long time)
  3. Scallywags - (Mostly bad reviews )
mintich · 11/08/2022 21:09

We haven't worked with those agencies but there is a great Facebook group called Parents of child models uk, which has a huge following and you will get lots of answers on there

lollipopsandrainbows · 11/08/2022 22:28

@RN2019 we've been with Bizzykids, no issues with them really but most work is London based so if you're not local or can't get a train easily then castings are difficult. You also need to be Spotlight registered for most of their jobs.

RN2019 · 11/08/2022 22:39

@lollipopsandrainbows thank you for your response. I am London based.
Did you do the photoshoot with them? I know its not mandatory but thinking it might be a good one to do anyway to see how my dd does and I find what they are charging for 4 images is reasonable.

I just learnt what Spotlight is (am very new to this topic)...lol! I think it is applicable only for 4yr+ models.

My cousin put her child into a reputable modelling company and made lots of money that went straight into the child's fund and she now may go through uni debt free. All pictures were tasteful and most were when she was less than 10 so we're even before her school peers could pick up on her doing it. Surely you have some idea why oriole do it and your faux naïve question is a bit annoying. You may not agree with it Personally and maybe you wouldn't do it with your own children. But to completely not understand why people do it isn't genuine

lollipopsandrainbows · 11/08/2022 23:40

@RN2019 yes we did but I'm northern based so went to their photographer in Manchester. We stayed with them for a number of years but found the castings difficult due to being up north. One benefit to Covid is that most castings now are virtual, so even though we're now with a London agent, we've only travelled there once in the last 3 years. My DD is almost 14 now and castings have dropped off a little, but she's made enough money to pay for a car and perhaps some uni fees.

RN2019 · 12/08/2022 16:16

@lollipopsandrainbows thank you for sharing this. We are thinking of registering with them for now and see how it goes.

B787cls · 13/05/2024 11:09

Hello, we have just signed our 3 month old baby up with bruce and brown. I am looking for advice (If he gets any work.) Has anyone else been with this agency or have any experiences they can share? ☺️ What's the best way to travel into London for work? We are northeners and so I've downloaded train timetables and tried to accumulate all possible route information in advance in case he gets called for anything. As I know there can also be train strikes I've planned car routes also but it would be quite a drive our first option would definitely be on the train. Maybe they might just put him forward for Manchester based work if any. Would love to hear any experiences or advice. X

Dmb2008 · 17/06/2024 14:52

@B787cls my daughter has just been signed too (5 months). We got signed about 5 weeks ago, she has her first shoot Wednesday and Thursday! I’ll let you know how it goes and how it seems. I’m apprehensive but also excited. I hope she enjoys the experience

How will a 5 month old enjoy the experience?

Somethink · 17/06/2024 15:02

May I ask how much they're paying @Dmb2008 ? Congratulations
