Someone please help I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. My 10.5 month old had started refusing his morning nap?? I’ve not changed anything and going by his wake windows. He will doze off and wakes up startled crying 5 mins later asif someone has woken him or given him a fright. This goes on and on until I eventually give in and let him stay awake. Has this ever happened to anyone because im literally at my wits end with it it’s driving me to insanity

What time are you usually doing the first nap? Wake windows see just a rough guide so he might just need to go longer before the nap now.
my 11month old does a morning nap at 10/10:30 but I know some do it at 9!
If we are out and about in the pram she might not sleep until 11.

Yes, I've been going through this with my 10.5 month old except it's both naps.
I'm adamant she's tired but she is protesting so much that I just keep her up for an extra 30 mins to play and then try again and basically repeat until she falls asleep. It's been really tough as it's thrown her day out completely and sometimes she's then only had 1 nap.
I was wondering if it was the heat. Other times she's gone to sleep but woken after 20 mins and refuses to go back to sleep.
This mornings nap was an hour so I'm hoping I'm out of whatever phase she's been going through

He wakes at 7:30 so his morning nap is usually 10:30 or there abouts…it’s torture. He eventually did go to sleep and slept for an hour tho 🙌🏼 Hallelujah

Changing sleep needs as he gets older maybe, I'd try adding 15 minutes to that first wake window. Is night time sleep okay?

MulberryBush700 · 23/06/2022 13:04

Could it not just be that his sleep need is changing and maybe isn't that tired anymore? I would try and let him stay awake for an extra 20 -30 minutes and see if that helps.

I’ve tried the longer wake windows he still does the same thing 🫣 his sleep at night time is up & down tbh he still wakes at night for a bottle 🫠

How many naps a day is he having?
When our lo was having 2 naps a day we started noticing that she was really fighting that 1st nap of the day, we eventually over time pushed it back later and she went down to 1 nap a day x

seasunshine22 · 23/06/2022 20:23

Could he be over tired by then? My DD is 10 months and can only manage a 2.5 hour wake window first thing after waking for the day.
