Kids suncream recommendations

Has anyone tried Tesco Soleil Kids F50 sun spray please? Is it any good?

Recommendations for affordable suncream for a toddler please? Factor 50, 5 star protection a must have. Non greasy non staining desirable.

We usually buy Lancaster and get on great but given that we are getting through it pretty fast it is working out a bit pricey.

Thank you.

I use Nivea Babies & Kids Sensitive Protect 5in1 SPF 50. No marks or greasiness.

I use the roll on ones from Wilko, 50+, UVA/UVB protection, waterproof, non greasy and easy to apply. They do a sensitive skin version aswell

I previously used the Nivea Care & Protect Factor 50 but then I read that this doesn't actually live up to claims in a Which study: www.which.co.uk/news/article/popular-adults-and-kids-sun-creams-fail-which-sun-protection-tests-aodOV0w1Ml7V

Since then I have been using Boots own brand Soltan which is super cheap and one of the best rated on the market: www.boots.com/soltan-kids-protect-and-moisturise-lotion-spf50plus-200ml-10283565

Boots Soltan factor 50 once a day. I've never trusted a once a day cream before but this one is really good. I use it myself, I'm milky white and it works so well.

My tweens hate suncream and the greasy feeling it leaves. Apparently there is a spray like a deodorant which doesn't leave that feeling. But I've no idea what it is? Does anyone?

allboysherebutme · 04/07/2022 22:51

Nivea spray or boots soltan. X

RoseMartha · 04/07/2022 23:04

Wilco kids one factor 50 has 5 stars on the rating thing on the tube. Fairly cheap and I dont find it greasy.

Mrsmch123 · 05/07/2022 22:11

I love boots soltan but it does stain clothes. I've just resigned myself to the fact that his clothes will get ruined on nice days. It did wash out his pram tho that we took on holiday🤷🏻‍♀️But Not his clothes

My son hates sun cream too, and always comes up itchy and in a rash with the nivea one, so I switched to the boots range, and we've not had any problems. He still doesn't like the cream, but they do a hard stick one that you put on (a bit like pritstick 🤣) and he doesn't mind that at all!

They do lots of different types, and a sensitive one too, great price and 5stars

CatNamedEaster · 05/07/2022 22:21

Avoid Ambre Solaire 50+ sensitive. I've used it every year for DS as it hasn't upset his skin. They must have changed the formula this year as every white school shirt ends up really dark yellow by the end of the day (even though I apply it 30 mins before he dresses). His shirts are all about 2 months old and look disgusting. Even soaking the stains in a bicarb solution for 48 hours didn't shift any of it!

We've never had an issue with own brand creams from asda, superdrug, boots, aldi, tesco etc

They often have a better star rating than some of the branded suncreams

Asda has a spray type one just now
