Easyjet baby food rules

I have read the baby food and drink Easyjet rules over and over and to me it doesn't make sense...

"Baby food and drink

You can bring baby food, baby milk and sterilised water in your cabin bag. This includes: soya milk for babies, sterilised water (which must be in a baby bottle), formula, breast milk or cow milk (specifically for babies) and baby food in containers of 100ml or less. They then must be placed inside a clear re-sealable plastic bag no bigger than 20 x 20cm.

The 100ml liquid limit doesn’t apply to baby food, milk or sterlised water, provided that the total amount is no more than 1 litre. You may be asked to taste it for security reasons."

The first paragraph says in containers of 100ml or less and must fit in bag no bigger than 20cm x 20cm, but then second paragraph contradicts the first paragraph saying the 100ml limit doesn't apply (as long as total amount is no more than 1 litre) and am assuming that the 20cm x 20cm size bag doesn't apply!

Am I totalling misreading this?

Where did you get this?

There isn’t a limit specifically on baby food/liquids. They don’t have to be under 100ml. It’s more of a general reasonable amount. You will be fine with whatever milk or food you need to fly with.

The rules aren’t airline specific but throughout the uk airports.

To add, I don’t even see how easyJet would know what you have in hand luggage! The airport security will test it and it goes back in your bag.
I’ve flown loads with a baby and breast milk in a bottle, premade formula, sippy cup of water, pouches etc and never had any bother.

@luxxlisbon
I got the info on the Easyjet website and thanks for the link.

With regards to putting all liquids in the 20cm x 20cm plastic bag, you are made to do this at airport secirity at Gatwick... I just wanted to know whether this applies to baby food/milk/drink (as stipulated by Easyjet). I don't see how it would fit in the tiny bag!!!!!

I've flown with them before and just had all pouches, baby bottles, milk etc in change bag. They removed it all, tested it and returned it to me. I didn't have to make sure it was 100ml and the milk certainly was over as was the water I took in a flask.

You gave to do that for liquids, but not those that are specifically for the baby.
I’ve flown multiple times from every London airport solo with an under 1 year old and it has never been a problem. Just take what you need plus a few extra, they will test it and scan it separately but it’s fine to take and you definitely don’t have to fit it in a clear bag.

Ok thank you 😊
Wonder why Easyjet state the contrary? 🤔

I will be flying with easyJet to Turkey with my 11 month old baby in September. He is on prescription dairy free milk so I will need to take plenty of formula with us to last 2 weeks. Does anyone know if you can get extra luggage allowance to allow this either with a doctors note or paid for? This is my first time flying with a baby and have been trying to find the relevant information online. Many thanks in advance 😊
