There's Something About Being Mary...

dd1 has been chosen by a)our local church and b)her school to be Mary in the Nativity play. That's two Mary gigs in the same week - I would have killed to be in a similar situation! Anyway, dd1 is hysterically upset and crying and saying she doesn't want to do it. Honestly I've never seen her in this much of a state. She seems really petrified. My first instinct was to tell the school that she didn't want to do it, but her teacher says just to leave it and she'll come round. Dh also says I am being over-protective and that it will be good for her! What do you think? She's almost 5 btw.

I have to admit that is what I thought of immediately.

Shrek2 vg fillum for defusing pre-school fantasies about Prince Charming, I have to say.

She did it! She looked very lovely in her Mary costume (from Woolies so if anyone needs one next year...) and behaved perfectly, even though she had a weird chewing thing going on with her mouth (nerves) which made her look a bit like she was chewing gum. She bossed Joseph around like a real pro and we were very proud
