I've finally decided to splash out on some new (second hand) nappies, and spend dd2's Christmas money . TBH the ones I have at the moment are so threadbare and tattered, they're embarrasing .

I've been using the motherease one size, which I like.

What's your favourite?

Baby BeeHinds Bamboo or if you like pocket nappies I have just tried out Nature Babies one size pocket and they are excellent......but brand new so you prob wont be able to get them second hand

Nappyzone · 15/01/2008 11:52

happy heiny onesize - fairly new but you might stillbe able toget some 2nd hand, bumgenius but again quite new - wonderoos age really well and you should find oodles of them - thats the pockets. shaped - gotta be the bimble! good luck andhave fun!

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 15/01/2008 11:59

Tots bots Bamboozles! They stay soft and are much more absorbant than just cotton. I got the velcro ones so they're just as easy to use as a disposable really.

Well I got bambino mio and they were fine, but I didn't test any others - I just saw that they were available second hand on ebay and took them. But as I say, they were fine!

In otherwords there are MNers who are much greater cloth nappy experts than I, so I bow to their superior knowledge of such things...

Scampmum · 15/01/2008 12:03

Totsbots Fluffles for us (quick dry time). Need big trousers for big bottoms, though!

Rantmum · 15/01/2008 12:03

I love the names of some of the nappies though

twizzly snoober boppers

and

jingly frizzles

and

bumply blooping bangers

and the like

Nappyzone · 15/01/2008 12:08

it makes yer head hurt sometimes though and you feel like a twerp at a demo coming out with such ridiculous names lol and trying to be semi serious!

YouKnowNothingOfTheCrunch · 15/01/2008 12:10

Oh yes, didn't add that tots bots bamboozles have a longer drying time due to higher absorbancy. Depends what you want out of your nappy!

Willowwisp · 15/01/2008 13:32

Hi

Bumgenius for me, I love them!

Not cheap though, I got mine online buy one get one free and they worked out at £7 each, but they dry so quickly and are very slimline!

Mmmm, my hands are starting to twitch ... so many choices. Not a pocket one though. I have an irrational dislike of pocket nappies. Bumgenius sound good, I didn't realise they were quite slimline.

Pockets - probably bumgenius

Shaped:

I like nippas so bambinex, bumble/bambeasy.

I like the shape and absorbancy of the beehinds, but found them a little low in the rise (that may have been more a squirmy child and me not coping with poppers well!!)

coby · 15/01/2008 23:08

bumbles, nippa ones. Really nice fit.

Flame did you find your beehinds were a little on the small size for a BTP in the waist too? Mine are is on the last setting for DD1 round her waist yet she is still in Size 1 Little Lambs

swampster · 15/01/2008 23:12

Totsbots nappies (any kind), Motherease wraps

Sazisi · 16/01/2008 22:30

I have a black Blueberry Minky, whch is a lovely, lovely nappy. mucho expensivo though (s'why i only have one ), and like gold dust to find second-hand!

FlameNFurter · 17/01/2008 08:50

I didn't have any issues with the waist, but DS is still only dinky

babyjjbaby · 17/01/2008 08:56

i like the mothercare terry squares £9.99 for six folded in the triple fold got kushies tots bots motherease and others but still prefer terry squares

cmotdibbler · 17/01/2008 09:05

I have no complaints about my MEOS - good everyday nappies and seem to go on and on. We use BabyBeehinds at night (would never use in day as they are so slow to dry), and the fit is a bit short with the boosters inside, but fine in the waist.

BevB · 17/01/2008 13:08

I too have a load of thread bare meos & popolini OS which I use when at home (so no one sees how scummy they are!) but also have a load of onelife OS which are slightly larger and I think are thicker (could be just my MEOS are that thread bare) that I use for out and about. I bought a load of these but still revert back to my thread bares when at home so do have some excess if you're interested for sale here

fairylights · 21/01/2008 16:03

i have used totsbots bamboozles and they have been ace. Expensive at the outset but worth it. The wraps did wear out a bit towards the end of using them. Sorry have just realized that you asked about birth-potty and bamboozles are 2 stage nappies - they are great anyway!
