Should my DD be in a nap routine?

My DD is 4months. She has a great nighttime routine, bath between 6-6:30, bottle then bed by 7:30- wakes at 2:30-3:30 for a bottle then 6:30 in the morning for wake up time. The day however is just a free for all...should I be trying to get her into a day time routine for naps?

You can by all means try. But whether or not she complies is another matter entirely.

Both of mine slept through by 3 months old. I had no day time nap schedule. DS1 just did not nap unless held and by the time I had DS2 he just had to sleep wherever around whatever else was going on that day. I was reluctant to ever introduce a routine, simply because I didn't want them to wake up at night!

It will happen eventually. Honestly I wouldn't worry for at least a couple of months. If she's only waking once at night I wouldn't be inclined to mess with anything too much!

That's the thing because she's so good in the night I'm scared of making her sleep more during the day (selfish I know!). Last week she did a whole night asleep 7:30-5:30- won't lie though I felt worse for it waking every hour to check she was okay 😂

Why bother if it works for you? I never had a routine for my kids and it works for us.

If you're not having nighttime issues then you don't need a routine unless you want one. If you do start having issues down the line you can look at a nap schedule then.

Definitely. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Sometimes I think you can cause more issues trying to sort perceived issues. Just relax.

I think we got into a nap routine around 6-7 months. I felt it happened naturally
