EBF and new teeth…!

My DD is 18 weeks and her bottom two front teeth have cut through the gums and are starting to make their way up and out.

She is EBF, which I love and would love to continue for as long as possible. 99% of each feed is normal and no pain whatsoever, but oh god that clamp down (either right at the beginning or she will do it right it at the end) is excruciating and makes me feel nauseous.

When it was the odd time it hurt when they first started coming through jt wasn't so bad, but now it's every single feed and because my nipples are already sore / broken skin from the last chomp down, it's making the pain more unbearable đŸ˜”

Does it get better? Is there anything I can do to get her to stop it, or help with the pain? Or is this our EBF journey possibly coming to an end? Help!

Yes it does. Every time she does it say no, be gentle. I can honestly say I was bit more on my shoulder than on my boob my DD2 who is still feeding at nearly 3.

After dd ground her jaw back and forth on my nipples when cutting her molard, I used to put teething gel on her Gims before a feed. Worth a try.

She's just getting used to the additional thing in her mouth when she latches. My boy bit for a week or two when he got teeth and not really since.

When she bites, smother her into your chest rather than pull out. She'll cry for a second, you tell her off, and resume feeding.

Mine found it hilarious as first :/ Just keep doing it! We've not had problems since :)
