Babies first lot of jabs

My baby had her first jabs yesterday and my god it was a rough night. She had her jabs at 10am, was a trooper love her. Was fine until about 2pm and it went down hill, didn't know if she wanted to cry, eat, or sleep so she was trying all 3 and getting herself worked up. I gave her a bath and she settled for a 3 hour sleep. Went off her bottle a bit, but thankfully at 2am this morning she was back to herself drinking.

But was very unsettled last night, had to get her in my chest so she could peacefully sleep, which of course meant I didn't sleep. But feeding her this morning I've noticed on her left leg it's red and sore. I'm sure the nurse told me what to expect but I'm a first time mum and after she had her jabs were done my head was just fuzzy trying to calm my baby. But is there anything I need to look out for in her behaviour and if the area gets more red?

Oh poor thing! This all sounds nornal to me-we got given a sheet with times to give calpol and what to expect. If you're worried at all give your GP a bell. The NHS website also has info on normal reactions to their jabs.
The redness usually stays for a few days- it must be sore for them I knoe how much my arms ache when I have a jab! Lots of cake for you and cuddles for her x

@Cantgetausername87 it's definitely sore for her. I was watching her last night and she kept the leg that is a bit red curled up and her other leg free and straight. Hopefully today she's back to herself. I miss my happy baby. You just want to take their pain away from them. And she has to do it all again in 4 weeks time😢

Oh its so so horrible! Just remember its so worth them having and will help prevent future pain! I didnt find the second set of jabs as bad - it was the menb one my boy reacted to x

Did you give her Calpol?

It's horrible to see them upset but doesn't last long, and at least you know what's causing her to feel unwell.

Chocoqueen · 16/06/2022 06:23

Poor thing, it sounds completely normal though. Hope she'll be back to her happy self today. If it helps, my DD was only like this after the first set, agree was fine after the 12 and 16 week ones x

GirlMumxo · 16/06/2022 12:09

She is back to herself this morning, just a bit grumpy to start but she's taking her bottle but being a bit fussy and taking it in stages which is fine. But the area is really red and hot to touch, also the lump under it feels rather big

How is she today @GirlMumxo ? Better i hope x

Milliesmummy92 · 17/06/2022 17:03

Not to make you worry but first jabs were fine for my DD second though were horrible and she's got her third lot Tuesday 😭. For second get her a dose of calpol straight down her! My DD's kicked in about 12 hours after and she was so hot she was in a nappy only for 2 days- it's horrible but hopefully your little one won't be the same. I've been advised to get ibuprofen this time as well x

Milliesmummy92 · 17/06/2022 17:04

The red lump did last for about a week with my DD but she did keep pulling and rubbing it so not sure if that made it worse xx

GirlMumxo · 17/06/2022 18:34

She is back to her usual self today. The day of the jabs she was just off her milk, didn't know if she wanted to cry, eat, or sleep, so was doing all 3 at once and working herself up. But today she's back to her happy little self. The lump on her leg today doesn't feel as swollen and it's not hot to touch either. Hopefully she's not as bad on the next jabs. But I did give her calpol before the jabs, and then every 4 hours after. She was still warm yesterday morning so I gave her a dose and she's been right as rain
