Twin/Double buggies and door widths

I live in a flat in a converted Victorian house with narrowish corridor and I’m worried none will fit through the doors.
Has anyone used a double buggy that was quite narrow and what make is it?
The ones I’ve seen at 76cm wide which is the exact width of 4 doors I have to get through. I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old and I need to get out before I go crackers 😂

Buy a tandem one.

Have you tried these? Do you rate them? I was worried it would be a bit miserable for whoever Is at the back staring at the pram in front? It put me off a bit

Yeah, go Tandem. Phil and Ted’s, iCandy peach etc. the narrowest double side by side is probably mountain buggy duet or Out n About Nipper 360, but you really don’t want the stress.

Deffo get a tandem. Phil & Teds are less than 60cm wide. Your toddler will more often want to walk alongside the pram so it'll give you room to fit both the child and the pushchair on the pavement without risking going in to the road.

I have the icandy orange and you can adjust the seats so the one at the back cans see more. Its a fab pushchair.

I used an I candy peach (a few years ago now as said children are 7 and 8), and we have a very narrow hallway. No one minded the back seat, they found it cosy.

Mountain Buggy Duet is a side by side but narrow (same width as Phil and Teds tandem). It's bloody amazing! It's 63cm wide so fits through most doorways, checkouts, easy to get on the bus etc. It's a dream to push too.

I have a 4 week old and a 22 month old and bought a second hand icandy Orange on FB marketplace for about £200 iirc. I love it - converts from single to double really easily so if I just have the toddler or just the baby I don’t have to cart around the double, and it comes with risers so if DD is still using the buggy when DS grows out of the carrycot then I can put one behind the other without them having no view. We have a narrow gate entrance to the house and I didn’t want to be running back and forth transporting kids down the garden into the house before going back to fold it to get it in.

I got mountain buggy duet for my twins and it's designed to fit through a single doorway. It definitely does and I quite enjoy the looks on peoples faces as I manage to get through small gaps where people say "I never thought you'd get through that!"

I saw someone in the street with what can only be described as an over and under type, but unfortunately I don't know what brand. Children (a baby and a toddler) both seemed happy with it, and was around the same length as a regular pram.

Another vote for the MB Duet - not found anywhere it won't fit (yet!)

DappledThings · 15/06/2022 16:28

Also recommending the MB Duet. Fitted through every single width doorway I tried and on every bus, even those mini ones. It's brilliant.

Thank you everyone for all your recommendations that’s loads I can look for! I think I was worrying too much about the tandem ones, getting out is the main thing.
And also a good idea to look on Facebook now I know some names. Thank you!! 😀
