Help finding bigger popper vests.

We use cloth nappies so extra bulk in the nappy area. The 18-24 month vests will be too small soon. Is there anywhere where i can get aged 2-3 popper vests?
Cheersxx.

My local tescos had loads last time I was in there.

Have you considered using vest extenders? Saves you having to put up with the extra wide neck problem you get when you go up a size just to increase body length.

earthmummy · 14/01/2008 15:45

I did not know that they were available! I know what you mean about the wide neck problem. I want to keep using popper vests because they are so warm and practical.

Vest extenders are great and work with all regular popper vests, but I do have trouble with some Gap ones. They are available from most nappy sellers - I got mine from Twinkle

bobsmum · 14/01/2008 16:01

Agree - vest extenders from Twinkle - fab invention!

CarGirl · 14/01/2008 16:03

I have some sleeveless popper vests in age 2-3 to sell from lady bird I think and they come up the same size as TEsco 18-24 which are always generous (I use cloth nappies) I have one vest extender which may be the correct popper size too.

we are using cloth. Fluffles and bamboozles. DD is 4 weeks old today and is on the brink of graduating from newborn to 0-3m. 0-3m baby grows fit in the body (some only just) but the legs are far too long. Anytips? I found tesco newborn too small but mothercare ok. I had heard tesco were generous

cmotdibbler · 14/01/2008 19:09

We loved the Grobag peoples babygros that sort of have proper socks attached - they lasted much longer than any others and were well worth the extra. The sock bit means that the legs can be way too long but still keep the feet in the right place.

MrsDandOllie · 14/01/2008 19:12

DS has 2-3 popper vests from Tescos!

beautifuldays · 14/01/2008 19:13

boy or girl i have some 2-3 boys vests from m&s lying around somewhere

earthmummy · 14/01/2008 20:00

Hi Beautifuldays, I have a little girl, don't want to say goodbye to her wearing little popper vests yet , she's still my little baby! They are really comfy warm in the cold weather too . Thank you for the kind offer, how much do you want for them?

Tescos are generous IME. They used to be fab for cloth nappy-friendly trousers but now they have changed and gone all straight leg / low rise. Luckily I bought a stash of value jeans for £1.50 each just before they stoppped doing them. Maybe they still do them at other stores but down here they seem to only stock lime green and pink leggings in my DDS size

I think I have some unworn 2-3yr size tesco vests (girlie ones) if you get stuck btw earthmummy. Liz79 - congrats on DD . I've not found a solution to the long leg problem we have extra problems as my DDs are very long in the body even without a cloth nappy. Only encouragement I can give is that DD2 at 20 months is fantastically well adapted to walking around in a sleepsuit with legs that are 6 inches too long for her and suprisingly enough I have never found her with her legs tied together in the morning despite much rolling around in her cot at night . btw, I think Tesco Newborn are quite small, at some point they suddenly seem to jump sizes and turn out to be very generous. I think it is their 6-9 month clothes that are the first generous size from what I remember.

nappyaddict · 03/02/2008 23:28

vertbaudet sell them and so do mothercare.

snowleopard · 03/02/2008 23:30

I loved them and wanted to use them for as long as possible - I found some at gap and H&M that lasted until after 2.

gigglewitch · 03/02/2008 23:33

earthmummy do you want our 2-3yo ones? all common stuff like mothercare and boots.
happy to send them to you if you can use them!

gigglewitch · 03/02/2008 23:36

liz79 I put my DC in long-sleeved body suit and those little leggings with feet in for bed, it cuts out the sleepsuit dilemma.
