Anyone use a yoto player with a 2.3 year old?

Bedtimes are getting harder. We have another baby on the way.

I do bath story bed.

I will still read a story together but was thinking a yoto might be nice for him to try and listen to and chill rather than battling with me?

If so are they worth it? I was looking at the mini?

I've just got a tonie box for my 2.5 year old, which is similar. It's early days but he loves it so far. We read books downstairs, then listen to a story in his bed and he nods off. I'm hoping one day I'll be able to leave him for little bits and eventually build up to him listening to a story and going to sleep by himself.

@Whatelsecouldibecalled we do, it's been a game changer. Let me know if you'd like a referral code for 10% off and I can message you x

@Yeknom thank you that's really kind.

Do you think the bigger one is better? We do have a nightlight already

I can't work out the different functions on the two?

Honestly, I think it’s personal choice. If you think you’d be taking it out and about a lot then the mini.
We have the larger one with an ‘adventure jacket’ (silicon cover) and because it has a handle she’s happy to carry it around. Although it’s bulkier she still puts it in her rucksack when we travel. The larger one comes with a bigger screen and a light function. I think that’s the only difference apart from the way in which you charge them. One has a dock, the other a usb x

Yes, we have a big Yoto player and have recently bought a small one too! We absolutely love them. Our kids are 7, 5 and 3 and they all use it. For the 2-3year old range, I would suggest cards that have lots of shorter stories on. Personal favourites of ours include Alfie, Topsy & Tim and Funnybones. And actually, for that age, you only need a few cards. They tend to listen to the same ones over and over again - the familiarity of them actually help them get to sleep.

From the age of about 3 onwards, all our kids love the Ladybird Audio Adventure series. We have them all! And they honestly learn SO much from them.

FYI: One of the BEST features on the Yoto for that age group is that you can set what time the clock turns from a moon and stars to a sun – helping to teach them when it's ok to get out of bed. It's been a lifesaver!! Goodbye 5am wake ups!!

And on the 'Mini vs Big' debate: I would suggest the big one for smaller kids. It's easier to put on and off the charger (it's a magnetic base). And it becomes more of a feature, with a larger clock face. The battery also lasts a lot longer.

They have a good referral programme too, which you can share with friends to help build up tokens. Here is ours, which will give you 10% off: prz.io/qOVmRrjT8

ENJOY!!
