Creme Caramel

Random question, but just wondering if it's OK to give our 11.5 month old creme caramel - the little pots you get from supermarkets? She tried it today and loved it, so if it's safe we may introduce it as an occasional snack...

It's safe, as in it's not actively dangerous, but it's full of processed crap and sugars and has pretty much no nutritional value, so why would you want to feed it to your baby when you could give her something just as tasty that will actually be good for her?

I would suggest it's better to make your own, look at the ingredients. If you want ready made stick to yogurt

Whole Milk, Cream (Milk) 12,9%, Caramel (Sugar, Water, Starch) 11%, Whole Egg 9,8%, Sugar, Egg Yolk 7,1%. These are ingredients for a bonne maman creme caramel. Genuinely cant see anything wrong with this as an occasional pudding for an almost 1 year old. Some people on here may not want to feed this to their DC, and that's their choice, but to suggest there's a problem with the OP doing so is just so needless.

The Bonne Maman ones I would happily give an older child as a treat, but the OP didn't specify and there are lots of others out there that are full of crap. Just like I wouldn't give a child this age fudge or ice cream - that amount of sugar simply isn't necessary for a baby!

A good source of calcium but fairly high in sugar so fine as an occasional food.
