Breaking bad screen habits

Does anyone have any tips, tricks or advice for breaking a screen habit with a 22 month old? Obviously cold turkey is of course an option but if there is any other methods that have worked well for others, I’m all ears

As a bit of background, DH ended up in hospital recently for a few days with heart problems and, in my mistaken effort to keep things running, I ended up letting DD watch cocomelon nursery rhymes on You Tube over breakfast and teatime. That hasn’t necessarily spiralled, but the constant requests for “all day long!”, “baa baa black sheep” and a remarkably close rendition of “wind the bobbin up” are getting a bit out of control.

I'm more than aware she shouldn’t be having any screen time at all at this age really (she’s at screen-free nursery during the week and weekends, we’re at the park, play cafe, wandering down the high st etc so much less of an issue) so I know I really need to crack the nut for her own good but the thought of the toddler rage is just…urgh

Over the pandemic, while working, home schooling and just generally trying to survive lots of people have done this to survive. Some times surviving is thriving. It’s not the end of the world. DD1 (late spring birthday) went to reception reading in part due alphablocks. You just need to decide on your boundaries, 15 mins after lunch or none or whatever it is and stick to it.

We ended up in some bad habits as DS was at home while I was working from home. I just go for distraction and saying later and letting him have a little bit each day
