Anybody with children similar ages to mine find that second time round it’s so much more lonely / harder!?

Groups have to be geared up to suit my toddler or the baby just gets dragged along to her activities. toddler goes childminder once a week but by that point I don’t want to go to baby groups. I just want a day to myself with the baby to do a long walk / shop / chill etc !

first time round I had friends with babies and now I do know people who have babies but they don’t seem to want my big toddler charging round their first newborn.

feel like all I do is do laundry, get the baby to sleep, feed the baby. He’s napping for about twenty minutes each time as can’t seem to stay asleep longer than that.

sorry for the rant just feeling overwhelmed today.

I had 2.8 years between mine. I went to lots of groups, but only ones that were suitable for both baby and toddler. The baby just had to fit in with the toddler's routine.

No advice but just want to say I feel exactly the same! I have a 2.5 year old and almost 6 month old… it’s tough. Some days are really tough.

I’ve definitely found two kids harder to adjust to than the first baby. Juggling two children with totally different needs is much harder than one baby, even if you were totally clueless the first time around (and I absolutely was!)

One thing I’ve found that’s helped is making friends with other local mums who also have two kids of similar ages. It’s so nice to chat to someone who’s going through the same challenges as they just get it. Obviously the kids can play together too.
