Hi, my 13 month old is due to have her 1 year vaccines next week. Does anyone know if there are any particular side effects from these? I'm just wondering if i will need to plan time off work if she becomes unwell. Thanks.

She might have a slight temp, but mine never did.

Thank you for your reply. So no tummy upsets or anything like that?

Nope. You might get a bit of a rash a week plus after, due to the measles, but upset tummy or runny nappies are generally only associated with the rotavirus vaccine they give newborns. All of this info is available on the NHS site.

We had no side effects drom 1 year with either kid. Younger ones we had temps etc

Thanks. I did Google before I posted and read that sickness and diarrhoea could be a side effect, hence my post. I wanted to see how common that was, as I obviously won't be able to send her to childminder if she's unwell.

It's the MenB vaccine that lists diarrhoea and vomiting as a possible side effect on the NHS website.

They have to say that if there are any documented cases at all, but in actuality it's vanishingly rare. Youll more likely just get a temp and a grumpy baby, should be completely manageable with calpol.
