Potty training and nursery.

My son is currently at a day care style nursery and as I'm not particularly happy with it so I'm planning to move him to preschool in September.

However, he's summer born and a late bloomer anyway with a speech delay. The school say the children have to be 100% potty trained as a pre-requisite for starting and he's no where near.

I know I have a few months but I'm nervous and feel under pressure. We have to pay a hefty deposit which we won't get back if he can't start due to not being potty trained.

Has anyone be in the same boat?

I beleive it's illegal for them to say that actually. Is it a local authority preschool?

No it's a private preschool.

Pretty sure that counts as discrimination.

Wow find that shocking I have ds1 who will go to school in September and still struggles with some elements of potty training never mind a year ago!!!

It’s not uncommon at all for preschools and nurseries to say this. Unethical and hopefully illegal but not uncommon.
