Just that! DD is 3.5 mo, DS is 4.5 y and Lego obsessed. What are your top tips for keeping them apart as DD starts exploring? Thanks Mumsnet community!

My 7 year old plays with her huge lego collection in her room (then we shut the door when the toddler is upstairs). She can have one set down to build on the kitchen table but then takes it to her room to play. We'll get the Duplo out for the toddler when she's 18 months.

As @AegonT said. Lego is confined to the bedroom or table ensuring none on the floor where baba is wandering

You have to confine it, even probably for a couple more years. My friend's dd had to go to A&E with some small parts up her nose. Whatever physical system you decide on, you need to drum it into your 4yo that he must be very careful with the small parts.

A friend got her kid a bunk bed, bed on bottom, plyboard on top instead of mattress and you have yourself an unreachable Lego tray. For a while at least.

Duplo and magformers are baby safe, if your kid can be persuaded!
