Help, 3.5 keeps bed wetting but won't wear pull ups

Help im knackered! Ds has been dry in the day since just after 2 years, but not night. For the past few weeks he's refused to wear pull ups at night so we've been sneaking them on him when he's asleep. But every time he wees he pulls it off, and it wakes him up.
So we thought fine, we'll try night training, but it's been a disaster! Minimum two wakes a night with a wet bed, and running out of sheets! We've been trying to reduce his liquids in the eve and have been lifting him onto the toilet for a wee when we go to bed, but he still just seems to have so much night time wee in him!
Where are we going wrong? Would happily go back to pull ups if he'd let us, but that leads to as many wake ups when he wees and pulls them off, and then wets the bed again. I just want a full night's sleep!
Any one had this problem and what's the answer? Thanks!

He isn’t ready to be dry at night. He doesn’t have the hormone yet

totally normal. He’s 3.5

hardly terrible

yes many are dry day and night around 3 as was my own dd, but equally I know several children who are 4/5 in dd reception class and not dry at night

so agree he’s needs to be in a pull up and not take it off. He’s 3.5 so can understand consequences if he does

it’s not cruel making a child wear one as he needs it

when you do try again in maybe 6mths

don’t limit drinks

dont lift at night

For long experience in bedwetting I believe the best thing to do is keeping the pull-up, bedwetting can last for years. Just tell him bedwetting is totally a natural growing up thing as well as wearing pull-up for it, not only baby wear pull-ups and wearing them doesn’t mean you are a baby. There’s need of explanation and understanding, at the same time if he need a pull-up, make him wear it, bring consequences or just use a pajamas with back zip. Believe me, there’s much more shaming in waking-up on a pool of pee than wearing a pull-up, let alone the additional work in the morning, poor or lack of sleep, hygienic reasons.
Tell him that after something like one month without wet nights he will get rid of pull-ups. Best tip I can give you, don’t make a big issue about it, treat it as a common natural thing and do just what is the best for both of you.
