Taking a crawling baby to a toddler class

Hello, I'm looking for any 'out of the box' ideas about how to take my now crawling baby to a class with my toddler. It was easy up until now as he pretty much sat in one place! But the class has a lot of movement and the toddlers like to run around a lot (understandably), so I need to keep him entertained and out of harm's way.

Some things I've tried or thought of:
Keep him in the car seat / pram - it does work but it's a bit boring for him

Bring a booster seat to strap to a normal chair - going to try this soon

Give him a snack in either the pram or booster seat

Don't have a suitable carrier to try

Things that don't work - putting blanket down with toys as he crawls off, holding him the whole time as he's too heavy.

Any ideas I've not thought of would be appreciated!

How long is the class?

What sort of class?

I used to just go to things which were suitable for both really... music group, messy play etc.

Baby walker would work but not sure I'd fit it in the car! It's 45 mins ish, it has been perfect to take them both to... Up till now!

Have you been to the group before? Does it cater for all ages? We go to a few with mixed ages and the parents (of all the children) just have to dart around a bit and make sure everyone's safe.

Travel cot - use it as a playpen? Failing that I think I would get a baby carried and strap him to me.

Baby walker?

These are dangerous and bad for development, not a good suggestion.

We go to a class for toddlers. Non mobile babies are welcome but once they're on the move they can't attend - normally the parents have a few months out and then come back when the little one is 1 and they can attend in their own right (aka be paid for) unless they've got someone to look after the baby.

I'd look for sessions they can both attend so it's not a concern about keeping your youngest our of the way.

I stopped going to classes at this point and just did church hall sessions - sooooo much easier, cheaper and actually more pleasant for me. I WISH I'd discovered them sooner!

I picked groups that both could go to eg toddlers or left DC2 in car seat eg tumble tots.Once the baby is toddling around the need for groups is a lot less imo .
