Hello lovely people!

I have just given birth around 5 and a weeks ago to a beautiful, healthy little girl.

Usually, she's been sleeping well. Up every 3 or so hours during the night for a 4oz feed, back down and repeat. Sleeps great during the day too. Lucky eh? Or so I thought haha😅😅😅

The last week or so hasn't been easy. She's now got acid reflux and is now on carobel. She's no longer sick after feeds and winds much better. Definite improvement.

However, this last week she has now decided she does not want to sleep in her next to me at night. She's barely sleeping unless she's in the bed next to me. I really didn't see myself as a co sleeper, and don't really want to continue to do so. But it's never ending battle at night for hours and I usually cave in around this time and bring her in next to me.

I should mention, I do have a partner who is the most supportive and patient man on the planet, however it would be lovely to have our bed back and have our LO sleep better in her next to me.

My question is, has anyone had this experience? Is this normal for an almost 6 week old? Are babies who suffer acid reflux usually this clingy?

I have spoken to the HV who said this is normal around this age but no other advice was given.

TIA from very,very tired parents!!!!!

I think at this age anything goes really , the quickest route to sleep is the one I always took in the knowledge that it’s very early days and nothing lasts forever. Whether baby is doing great sleep or awful sleep it’s constantly changing for the first couple of years. My mum always said to me ‘they won’t be in your bed when they’re 16’ !! And it’s true enough but at the time the nights are looooong.
