Torticollis Help

My nearly 3 month old has what we think is infant torticollis. (Waiting to get a docs appointment to confirm) When she is upright her head always tends to tilt more towards her right shoulder. When doing tummy time, and when sat upright she struggles more to turn her head to the right. However, when laying down on her back, she tends to lay her head more to the right side, and struggles looking to the left and never lays her head flat down on the left, whereas she can on the right. If that makes sense!

Has anyone had experience with their LO having torticollis and if so how did you help fix it?

We are making sure she looks both directions when on the play mat or doing tummy time, so she gets exercise on both sides, and switch the changing mat round frequently so she is stretching both sides of her neck. Is there anything else we can do to help or is it just something that will align itself over time?

Physio gave us some exercises to do daily and it was fixed within 6 weeks.

My little boy had mild torticollis, he always tilted his head to the left when upright and would only sleep with his head to the left. We just did all the things you’re doing, working on lots of tummy time and getting him to look in the direction he found most difficult. I would also manually turn his head when he was lying down (very gently!) to help stretch out the muscles. Didn’t get any official help but did look up some exercises on the internet and did those with him most days. Took about a month but it resolved itself. If you are particularly worried or it doesn’t seem to improve I would ask your health visitor or GP.
