Climbing furniture

Just looking if anyone had any ideas on how to get my 3yr old to stop using the washing machine door as a foothold to climb onto the kitchen side. Ive tried covering it with various things which promptly get ripped off. Unfortunataly theres not much reasoning with him at the moment because he is autistic and has very little understanding of danger.
TIA

Can you use a baby gate into the kitchen or can he climb those too?

Nope, just solidarity. My twins are two, NT AFAIK and twin 1 also does this. He only can't get up because he isn't quite big / strong enough. I just try and keep them out the kitchen with door locks. If you can't do that, could you give him a footstool to use so at least he's safer getting up and down? What does he do once up there?

Would having something like a Pikler triangle, internal climbing frame or small slide work to redirect his climbing?

I know this isn’t what you want to hear but usu might have to have to turn your thinking around to how to make it safe for him (and your appliances) rather than how to stop it happening.

is there somewhere close that you could fix a solid handle onto (like the kind elderly people have for bathrooms etc)?

is the payoff for climbing on the sides purely sensory or is he also accessing something from the cupboards that could be placed in a lower cupboard instead?

if it’s about sensory feedback, you might be able to meet the climbing need elsewhere in the house. Something like a bunk bed could be adapted to climb on. And they’re fairly reasonable second hand,
