My 10 month old still has no teeth!

Just as the title says, my 10 month old still has no teeth. Not a single one. I love her gorgeous gummy smile so much but i am starting to wonder when they might make an appearance. She's been showing signs of teething for MONTHS and i have a terrible feeling she is going to get about 5 in one go. 😖

Any other later teethers out there? When did your babies cut their first teeth?

Yes my ds didnt.

He walked at 11 months and had just one top tooth at that point.

For some odd reason I can only put down to pfb ness we found it hilarious.

When he ran around in his nappy he looked like Tommy from rugrats 🤣🤣🤣

I have heard that the later they come through the stronger they are. I have no idea if it's true or not!

My DD was over 12 months before any deciduous teeth erupted. As a dental professional I was slightly worried, but they appeared eventually.

froidIci · 19/04/2022 15:46

My sons first tooth: 13 months
My daughter first tooth: 16 months.

mondler · 19/04/2022 15:47

Mine got his just before his first birthday.

ponkydonkey · 19/04/2022 15:49

Mine got their from 12-15 months old and their teeth fell out late too
Just see it as they'll have teeth longer in old age 😀

Elopelo · 19/04/2022 15:50

Yes DC2 is almost 13 months and didn’t have a single tooth till 11 months, I was getting worried as DC1 had about 8 at the same age! Within the space of a month he know has 4 teeth with 2 more coming through!

Some babies are late teethers and I’ve read you shouldn’t necessarily worry until they get to around 18 months with no sign of any coming.

itsgettingweird · 19/04/2022 15:54

I should add my ds ended up needing to have most of his baby teeth taken out because his adult teeth didn't push them out.

Except it wasn't a injection job type thing. At 8/9 Berber time we went to the dentist they wobble it a bit and out the pointy thing around it. And it would fall out within a few days.

A dentist told me that, longer they're in the better!

Mine got her first tooth at 14 months

purpleme12 · 19/04/2022 16:04

Nothing to worry about

bloodywhitecat · 19/04/2022 16:10

Nor does my 11 month old, she is still a toothless, gummy baby.

Nelliephant1 · 19/04/2022 16:11

My lot were slow to get teeth and also slow to lose their baby teeth too 😆

bloodywhitecat · 19/04/2022 16:12

Hair on the other hand, she has enough to need her hair tied up in bunches.

IamTheOldWomanThatLivesInAShoe · 19/04/2022 16:12

None of mine got theirs until about 10 months. They were also late to lose them (first ones fell out at about 7/8 yes old). Dentist told me it’s a good thing as means they’re stronger 🤷🏼‍♀️

Abouttimemum · 19/04/2022 16:13

Mine didn’t get his first till he was over 1, then loads came together, and then by 2 he had his back molars as well. Teething never really bothered him thankfully, I didn’t even know all his molars were through until the dentist told me! Hopefully it’s a sign for you ha.

liquidrevolution · 19/04/2022 16:14

DD only got her lower two teeth before she was 1. The others came through really quickly afterwards.

Its the same with losing her milk teeth, she lost the bottom two then none lost for over a year then 5 in one week.

They are all nice and straight though.

pitterypattery00 · 19/04/2022 16:17

My son didn't get his first tooth until 17 months! Often had teething pain months before this but no tooth ever emerged, no sign of any white in his gums whatsoever, until 17 months. Several then came though within a few weeks.

(I had contacted dentist at 15 months, they weren't concerned - said they would see him if no teeth by 18 months.)

AnotherNC22 · 19/04/2022 16:25

Aaaah, thanks for all these comments! It's good to know we aren't alone!!

@IamTheOldWomanThatLivesInAShoe and @liquidrevolution It would be great if it meant she had lovely strong teeth - DH has had loads of problems with his teeth; mine are fairly strong (although have got so sensitive since my pregnancy and breastfeeding, which i assume is damage by a lot of morning sickness and the fact i was very badly vit D deficient for a while postnatally) and straight thanks to braces as a teen, although they do have a tendency to yellow easily and are tricky to whiten. I would love for her to have lovely strong and healthy teeth Smile

I am due a check up at the dentists soon so i will take her along with me anyway and see what they have to say!

@itsgettingweird I'd never even thought of Rugrats! Grin I imagine this is exactly what she will be like.

@YayitisfinallySpring nice to know dental professionals are not immune from these worries either!!

@ponkydonkey Gah, if they fall out late as well, i dread to think what the going rate for the tooth fairy will be by that point!

@Abouttimemum haha! Fingers crossed!

At 10 months old her bottom 2 started cutting and 10.5 month her top 2 😊 She looks like a hamster haha

TheGlitterati · 20/04/2022 08:21

Both of mine were within days of their 1st birthday. We had no problems with teething, they just arrived. I’m sure it’s because they were older.
