Ferber method when working full time

Hello, hope someone can help. My DS is almost 13 months and used to be a good sleeper from around 3 months until 10 months (with just a small regression at 6 months). He sucks his thumb and is a good eater so that may have helped
Anyway...as soon as he hit 10 months he has regressed to waking up one or two times a night ...generally once before we go to bed at 10pm and then another time after midnight. While this doesn't sound too bad it can take 2 to 3 hours to get him back to sleep! Sometimes he's crying whereas other times he's just awake. Tried co sleeping but he doesn't sleep in the bed either. We put him down at 7ish and he falls asleep in our arms and then we wait 10 mins before we lower him down into the cot (which is very hit and miss!).

Anyway.... I'm prepared to ride this out if this is a regression but what worries me is that he can only fall asleep in our arms.

I want to try the Ferber method on him but my question is that how would this work given DH and I both work full time and therefore he is being napped by different people during the day (grandparents for 2 days and nursery for 3 days?) I've read that with Ferber you need consistency so worried that for naps he'll be rocked to sleep but then bedtime would be completely different which could cause confusion. I also wanted to tackle all this over Easter weekend given we are at home for 4 days but DS has a slight cold so waiting until he's better before I start all this on another weekend. Also would a weekend be enough to make a difference? During the week we are so exhausted that we just choose the path of least resistance and let him fall asleep in our arms.
Sorry this is long! Didn't want to drip feed too much x

I only did Ferber for overnights not naps and it worked within 6 days.

Thanks @catcrisis - I'll try it overnight then. Will start on a Friday night when he's better and then hopefully by the Monday at least there will be a small difference. When you did it then did you do the Cc when he woke in the night too? Or just when putting him down?

Yes did CC when they woke up through the night at gradually increased intervals throughout the week. It really worked so well and highly recommend it. One week and we both got so much more sleep and were happier as a result

Thank you! Can't wait until he's better and we can try this. He's hysterical at the moment if we put him in the cot. .even if it's just to run to the loo

Have you read the book? Very detailed. A while since I read it but I think you can just do nights for the training.
