Cmpa take her to a&e/ ring 111

MolliciousIntent · 14/04/2022 18:04

Call OOO GP or 111 right away. A bit of blood might be normal but that is an awful lot. If you don't get someone to see her tonight I'd be heading to A&E. Keep those nappies to show/test just in case.

BlanketsBanned · 14/04/2022 18:05

Agree, either 111 or hospital, hope she feels better soon.

I would call 111

Maybe ask for a title warning for the gross pic? Especially as it's tea time for a lot of people Grin

BundtCake · 14/04/2022 18:20

Fucking hell couldn't you have put a warning in the title.

Hugasauras · 14/04/2022 18:22

Yes 111, I didn't expect that much blood although it might look worse than it is as it's mixed with mucus etc. Definitely worth seeking medical advice for.

Oh come on, she's panicked about her kids health. It was a thread about poo. Have some compassion.
ProseccoStorm · 14/04/2022 18:23

I'm not one for medical advice, more of a 'wait and see at home' type but even I would be straight on the phone to get some advice on that.

Good luck

It's a thread about blood in poo.

Fairly sure anyone clicking has a reasonable expectation of seeing either or both.

Fucking hell couldn't you have put a warning in the title.
Couldn’t you have just clicked back off rather than leave a shitty comment? She’s a worried parent asking for help, and it’s a dirty nappy, nothing most of us haven’t seen before.
FoggySpecs · 14/04/2022 18:27

My DS had similar, he had a dairy allergy even though he was breastfed, I had to give up dairy, he wasn't thriving he saw the doctor and went onto nutramigen and was a different child.

Unsureaboutit9 · 14/04/2022 18:27

OP phone 111, GP will probably be shut tomorrow anyway for bank holiday so just phone 111 now as they will just get busier over bank holiday. Hopefully it’s nothing to worry about

SharpLily · 14/04/2022 18:28

When my daughter had this the doctor said it was NOT normal and took further action immediately. The result was CMPA, treated with lactose free milk and passed by the time she was a year old.

Scirocco · 14/04/2022 18:32

Hi @Lily189, that looks quite similar to my little one's nappies when she had a mild colitis (inflammation of the bowel) due to a cows milk protein allergy. It was so scary, but resolved quickly once we identified the cause and she's been pretty well since, other than a bit of a flare-up around the time of her rotavirus vaccination.

I'd suggest calling your GP or 111 - they'll probably arrange for a paediatric assessment (maybe even a same-day one) which can hopefully start the process of finding out the cause.

Notasdesperate · 14/04/2022 19:00

Not normal to look like this. Cmpa? My baby had the diarrhoea and mucus (and pain and wind, also vomiting, rash...), it was cmpa. Go back to the gp first thing tomorrow, ask for a second opinion right away if you get the same answer.
If breastfeeding you can start excluding egg, milk, soya from your diet.
If formula feeding gp can prescribe extensively hydrolysed formula.

Amicompletelyinsane · 14/04/2022 19:04

I'd hedge a guess from symptoms and the look of that nappy at cows milk protein intolerance. My children were like this.

crackingreward · 14/04/2022 19:19

Fairly sure anyone clicking has a reasonable expectation of seeing either or both.

I actually don't think that's a reasonable expectation at all tbh.

Lily189 · 14/04/2022 20:00

Thank you everyone for your responces in a&e shes protein allergy so getting sorted with new milk xx

Amazing, well done xxx

PerfectPrepPrincess · 14/04/2022 20:06

I hope your GP gets a roasting from the hospital next week

Amicompletelyinsane · 14/04/2022 20:16

GPS are useless with it. Mine said that cm pi didn't exist

romdowa · 14/04/2022 20:24

Glad you got it sorted! My gp told me my babies cmpa was colic 🙄🙄 make sure it's an amino acid based formula like neocate and not hydrogalized like nutramigen which still contains milk protein but just broken down and can still cause issues.

I second this, both of mine needed neocate and it was the only thing that worked. When they were on nurtamigen they still had bad symptoms
