I wish I didn’t worry too much about:

Milestones
Sleeping through the night
Food intake

Definitely sleep. They sleep or they don't. Coffee exists for a reason.

The guilt of not breastfeeding.

What other mums thought of me (probably caused by some woman being a massive dick about FF at my first ever baby class).

TV time. For both me & the kids.

How much he slept and co-sleeping.

Sleep - how much we got, when they napped/how long for, how they fell asleep. Weaning - what they ate, how much, when. What other people thought of me.

Sleep - absolutely bonkers I stressed so much over DD not napping in her own bed/Not going out because it would clash with naptime.

Leaps - that wonder weeks app is a crock of shite. Makes you feel like your baby is broken if they play up during non leap time. When people say "oooo he/she going through a leap" - nope - absolutely normal baby behaviour!

Co-sleeping

How long she had her dummy and bottle for.

She has autism and we didn’t know that then and made her upset for no reason.

Potty training
Eating
Thinking the worst in any given situation.

Chill the fuck out, watcher, is what I wish I’d told myself!

Trying to change whatever the perceived problem was at the specific moment. Everything, good and bad, in at least the first year is a phase. If you give it time the problem will more than likely fix itself.

Breastfeeding. It really, really, really doesn’t matter, even in the short term.

Potty training - the anticipation was far worse than the reality. We did it “late” - between 2.5 and 3 and there was no training, lugging potties around or hedge wees needed.

For me, it's comparing Ds2's development to DS1's. I think having a blank slate with DS1 definitely allowed me to be a bit more chilled. Ds2 is 8months now and I'm sure I will look back in a couple of years time and wish I calmed the fuck down.

Comparing milestones, weights, clothes sizes etc. Eldest is nearly 11 and they can all run, swim, ride a bike, read, write etc!
