Dropping off at Nursery!

So I drop my dd off for her one day a week at Nursery (the day where I spend all day doing horrible things that need concentration like accounts, the joys of running your own business eh! and I do this so I can spend the rest of my time with her)and she has a two second blub as I leave as soon as I'm out of sight she shuts up.....but as I'm putting my shoes back on outside the door, I hear one of the nursery staff say to another 'I could never do that if my child was crying....'
My thought was, you are young but you will learn.... your thoughts please?

couldnt have left without giving her a piece of my mind if i had been you. maybe she was talking of someone else? if not, she is a silly bitch and needs to get a life

Out of order! Complain. Us parents create enough of our own guilt trips, without other people sending us on them. I know they thought you were out of earshot, but the fact is you overheard.

They must say this a lot in their working day because an awful lot of children have a bit of separation anxiety for a couple of minutes which they quickly get over as a rule.

Well isn't ignorance a wonderful thing! I'd have done exactly the same as you.

I would have a word with the nursery manager though...part of the role of staff is to support you.

(Hope the member of staff concerned ends up with a hoard of her own permanently wailing kids .

was this by any chance clowns nursery?

Hulababy · 22/11/2004 08:50

Seems so out of order. In many nurseries the carers actually advise you to go, as they know the child settles almost immediately once you are out of the door.

Marina · 22/11/2004 08:53

Agree with everyone else here. That remark was inappropriate and moreover misleading. They do settle 99 times out of 100, and you already know your dd is fine there. Complain to the management about this, Frizbe.

thanks for the support ladies, and yes fairdust this was Clowns!!!! Who are normally pretty good I have to say, must also say hadn't seen this nursery nurse before, so maybe new? Think I may mention it tonight tho, as they really should keep their thoughts to themselves!
