Little tikes water table

We have the little tikes pirate ship activity table. Was really surprised it didnt come with a cover. Its full of dirt and leaves ever day with it not being covered up. What do people do? I dont wanna have to clean it out and daily in the summer has anyone been able to find a cover for it? This will be the first summer my little boy will be out playing in the garden. Any must have toys other than paddling pool, sand pit and water table? Haven't got space for a swing its quite a small garden.

This thread is quite old now so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but if you’ve landed here looking for sand and water table recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best water table page with lots of great options, as tried and tested by Mumsnet users and their kids. We hope you find it useful.

Is it one you made yourself or did you buy one? I'm looking for outdoor play ideas for my toddler but am not very crafty or handy from a diy perspective!

Oh forgot about them. I couldnt make one either would have to buy one.

It’s a bought one. From muddy buddy I think. Was a 1st birthday gift from grandparents

Tuff tray on a stand - then you can put whatever you want in it. One of the best things I bought.

Could you not just cover it using a bin bag?

Last summer for dd who was around 18 months we had:
paddling pool (similar to this)

Is it plastic so light enough to lift? Our water table just gets chucked in the shed. I'd think about outside storage esp if you want to get more stuff.

Other things we have is a pop up tent and tunnel set, a little football goal and a slide

Caspianberg · 11/04/2022 06:50

I think you definitely need a cover though. Does the company not make one?

www.step2.com/naturally-playful-sandbox - we have this sand pit. It’s a nice size, and the lid has kept all rain, leaves, snow out all winter. Ds has played in it all winter still, even in full snow gear.

Patchbatch · 11/04/2022 06:55

We just used to clean it periodically and tip the water on the garden and refill or let it fill with rainwater. A cover would have made more sense though, can you fashion one out of bin bags?

JessicaSpace · 11/04/2022 07:28

I'd get a tuff spot and put it over the top (upside down) at night and then during the day use it for different things. Like duplo or whatever he is in to that week.
