Is this enough baby clothes in each size? FTM.

I'm a FTM due end of June/start of July and am trying to figure out if I've bought enough baby clothes. Does this sound enough to you?

I'm not expecting tons of gifts as I'm not having a baby shower but I imagine I'll get a couple of bits. In terms of laundry capabilities, I don't have a tumble dryer but it'll be summer so should be warm..? Baby is measuring average so far.

Newborn (up to 7lb 8oz):
6 sleepsuits
5 vests
2 hats & scratch mittens

Up to 1 month (up to 10lbs)
6 sleepsuits
12 vests (got some plain white ones and some patterned ones to wear on their own if hot and pair with joggers if chilly)
3 short sleeved/short legged rompers
3 pairs of joggers
4 pairs socks

Up to 3 months (up to 14lbs)
11 sleepsuits
14 vests
2 cardigans
2 "outfits" (leggings/tops)
4 pairs socks

I've bought a couple of things in 3-6 months too but assume it's better to hold off getting too much until baby is here for this size to gauge weather/how much we use?

Thanks in advance!

Yes that's plenty and I wouldn't buy too far ahead. Wait and see how quickly your little one goes through sizes so you'll know what season to buy.

Basics like vests and sleepsuit are ok to size up though

Sounds plenty. As long as you keep on top top of washing (which I found I was motivated to do by the poo leaks...). I was putting a wash on every couple of days during the newborn days Grin

It doesn't take long for baby clothes to dry as they are so small 🙂

I think that sounds OK - there may be some days when you go through a few outfits though!

I had a reflux baby and I needed at least triple of that, my DS was sometimes going through 4 vests/sleepsuits in one day, especially as I was in far too much pain to do any washing for a good 1.5 weeks after giving birth. However I'd say wait till LO is born and you know their size/how bad your recovery is. Most clothing places you can get next day delivery so once their born you can always get a delivery if you do find you need more.

One thing I would say is don't bother with scratch mitts, they don't stay on. Better to look for the sleepsuits/vests with the little turnover hands.

You could possibly get a sun hat in up to 3 months also, DS was a July baby and near the end of summer when I was able to go for walks we had him in the sling a lot so needed a good sun hat to keep him safe

Good luck OP!

@Jurassiclover a Sun hat is a good idea! Thank you! I'll add one of those to the list. All the sleep suits do have fold over sleeves. I just bought the mits in case it's warm and he's wearing a romper or vest but am expecting not to use them haha - they're a just in case!

You sound well prepared. I wouldn’t worry about buying any more. I did this with my first, wanted to get everything sorted before the baby arrived, but, I soon discovered that if you need more stuff you can just… buy it Smile
Also you might find that stuff from some shops fit your baby better than others.
