Would you use crèche at a hotel abroad/UK?

Hello,

We're going away with our LO (6 months) soon and the hotel offers crèche and babysitting services.

Have you ever left your baby at these kinds of services and how did it go?

Were you able to relax whilst you had an evening?

What is the alternative if you don't?!

Thanks

No I didn't and wouldn't. But I'm an anxious parent. At 6 months I just schlepped DD around with me and it all worked really well.

Not a chance that I would ever use them. We go on holiday as a family and we stay as a family. 🙂

For me no, especially with a baby. You don't know about the calibre of who is looking after your child. Went to Spain when DD was 10 and she sometimes went to the kids club through choice though- she looked at the itinerary and decided what she liked the look of !

100% yes, for companies such a TUI/First choice, who have English speaking and English qualified childcare specialists. I would probably wait for 4/5 years if it wasn't TUI.

I don't think I'd be able to relax, I wouldn't leave my baby anywhere except with my mum and baby's father at that age.
I'm likely over protective though.
No judgement if you decide to do it though!

Yes i did with TUI and it was very good. Neilson also employ British staff, my sister worked in the crèche for them.

MyDcAreMarvel · 08/04/2022 19:12

Pre school age yes not as a baby.

FTEngineerM · 08/04/2022 19:14

I’ve looked at these when looking at holidays and tbh I don’t even know what I was thinking it took me 3 months before I’d sleep in the other room and leave dc with DP. Absolutely fucking no chance I’d be relaxed whilst they were in the care of a stranger in another country with differing standards and levels of care.

Cyclingforcake · 08/04/2022 19:22

Yes I would and I have. Not left my baby in them for days but a few hours to have a child free dinner on site - absolutely.

MissAmbrosia · 08/04/2022 19:24

I had a babysitter in UK once via (quite posh) hotel when dd was about 15 months old, when we got married. And in NY - when she was about 3. I was pretty confident that she would just sleep at that point.
Otherwise, on holiday, we always did self-catering or took the baby out with us in the evening. I wouldn't want a baby in a creche to be collected late, or "listening" service.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 08/04/2022 20:26

No. I never left DD with anyone at that age.
