What age twin out of cot into bed

After another disastrous nights sleep with my twins and watching one wriggle and roll and wake themselves up on the bars of the cot not to mention getting their leg wedged in the gaps I'm wondering if he can't get comfy because he's outgrowing the cot?

He's 15 months and certainly size wise much bigger than his twin sister and bigger than our eldest daughter at his age.much more physical too - happily walking independently for the last 2 months whereas his sister is still cruising

They are currently in IKEA cots - deliberately went for Cots this time instead of cot beds as felt cot bed for eldest was a waste of money as I constantly had to squeeze in there to sleep with her and so got a single bed instead....

Is 15 months too young for a single bed?

Each child is different so there’s no “age” but provided you use a suitable bed rail to prevent plopping out the side, I don’t see why he can’t move into a single bed

We went down the toddler bed route but what a waste of time (and money) only in it 3 months!

Straight into a single bed as soon as you feel ready, and it sounds like you’re ready

I'm definitely ready 😂 its just caught me out with DS with him still being so young but I'll literally do anything for more than an hour or two sleep at a time

DS2 climbed out at 18 months, but went into a toddler bed.
If you are worried about the drop, could he go on a mattress o the floor, then get the bed frame when he stops rolling out?

My twins were right wrigglers and moved around all over their cots - if I'd put them in a bed at that age they'd have fallen out repeatedly even with a bed guard (and boy twin still did when he first moved into a junior bed aged 3!!) Sleeping bags helped keep their legs contained.

You could maybe try a Montessori style floor bed and see how he gets on?

DS went into a bed at a similar age; we got one low to the ground and he sleeps better in it and seems to like it better as he’d get really frustrated in the cot. What I did do though was tuck the duvet under the mattress at the end of the bed as he kept waking because he’d pushed the duvet out of the bed

Our 2nd child went in to a single bed at 15.5mth, baby 3 was due the month after and took the cotbed he was using. He looked tiny in it despite being on the 98th centile. Our twins stayed in 1 cot bed for ages then had one each until 5 years but I often found them snuggled up in one of them.

Oh and the single wasn't low but got a bed guard for it to help stop him falling out.

Thanks all yes I think id go for something very low to the floor - I already have single mattresses so want to avoid buying toddler beds if I can
