Buggy help!

Hello!

So I am pregnant with my second child - when baby is born DS I I’ll be 3 weeks away from turning 2.

What are your suggestions for the buggy situation?? Will DS likely still be using the buggy? Do I need a duo?? No idea how long kids will use a buggy for and if it’s not long after turning 2 then will I end up with a double buggy for nothing.

A big part of this depends on your lifestyle. Do you walk miles or is it just short trips? Is the toddler a bolter or good at holding your hand? Tight timetable or can take life at toddler pace?

I personally found the buggy board more useful but I had a duracell bunny who was 95% certain not to run off (although she did have her moments) and no real time constraints. I also had a baby carrier.

I am just thinking about moving my double on and DS is now 3y 2 months and DD is just about 1.
So used it for almost exactly a year. Wouldn’t have been without it.

To add... if their bitth order was switched, we would have definitely needed the double... she did have a health condition affecting stamina, but her personality was completely different too. Very impulsive for example.

I have a 10 month old and an almost two year old, I tend to use a single buggy and a sling would that be an option? The toddler walks a lot now but if I need to be somewhere at adult pace rather than toddler pace then he goes in the buggy and the baby goes in the sling. If I have tine to dawdle at toddler pace then she goes in the buggy and I just take the sling for just in case I need it.

Mine is recently turned 3 and we still use the buggy if we need to get somewhere quickly, or just to have with us on long days out (zoo, National Trust type day) because he gets tired. I wouldn't have wanted to be without it when he was 2.5, as he was still napping in the afternoon and it's also useful to have somewhere to contain them!

Can you get a double on Facebook marketplace?

I got a cheapo second hand Phil and teds sport when ds2 was born. Ds1 was 2y3m. Was really useful as they'd occasionally both sleep in it, but easy enough to ditch the other seat if ds1 wanted to walk.

Thanks for asking this! I literally came on to ask the same question. My first will be 2.5 when number 2 comes along. He's a great walker already at 2 and we live in a small, very walkable town. Thinking of a buggy board, carrier and maybe getting one of those tiny fold up ones for longer day trips...

I don't know if there will be jealousy giving the buggy up? Not sure if I'm kidding myself that o could get away without a double...

Similar age gaps, we don't have a double. We use a combination of buggy, buggy board and asking sling... Typically for long journeys the baby in the sling and the toddler in the buggy, and for shorter journeys the baby in the buggy and the toddler on the board. But they can each use the buggy now it's on the seat rather than bassinet so we're flexible to swap throughout the day. When we had the bassinet I tended to keep the baby in the sling and toddler in the buggy.
