my ds will be 3 in march, out of nappies since july with varying success. Really deteriorated recently, wets pants a few times a day, wee'd on floor twice today, did tell us at least. i've been getting v. annoyed which i'm sure doesn't help. stickers don't help. thinking of not reacting except for wet clothes comimg off and giving her dry ones to put on, and also saying if dry until lunch she can watch an episode of pingu before it, and likewise with tea (we don't have a tv so dvds are a big treat). I had been asking her to sit on potty and she often refuses so I'm planning to stop asking her as she seems to manage at nursery (nursery has been off for 2 weeks so that doesn't help, but she only goes 2 mornings a week). She has a baby brother, born in May.

If it helps read just lat night in Toddler Taming that you can expect accidents like this for up to 1 year! My DD must be about same age and stage and seems to go through days when she forgets or wants to wind me up. The more you pay attention to it the worse she'll be. I'm guessing the attention factor might be high with the new brother on the scene. Just one o those things I think - you need the patience of a saint. I find pre-empting does help as DD does forget if distracted and often doesn't want to stop what she's doing.

Is she only using potty? If so maybe it's time to go for the loo? We use loo most of the time then DD goes a bit regressive and want the potty. Bonkers.

Try the no-liquid diet as last resort (only joking!) good luck and just keep washing..

Thanks DisasterZone, I think i said she's a ds when she's a dd! She does use both. Maybe i'll keep reminding her but only casually. I'm pretty sure the floor wees were deliberate, or at least the second one was. I was thinking of making sure she drank plenty tomorrow in a perverse sort of way (and as she never seems to drink enough), so she's conscious of needing to go more. Maybe that's over optimistic

Aah! I love the lengths we parents go to to try to stay one step ahead! I was tempted to give her 1 smartie every time she used the loo but I think DD would soon abuse that system, as I saw a thread about the other day. It did get us over the screaming-blue-murder at hairwashing time though. Phew!

Hope you have a drier day.

rooibosh - my 3.3 yrs old who had been dry 5 months was suddenly going a phase of wetting herself and forgetting to go to the toilet and there was a pool of wee on the toilet floor ! (she was too busy washing her hands11)... she had stopped it now.

Thanks for your support, realised afternoons are the biggest problem so I will be vigilant then and practice deep breathing!

If she's been totally dry a while and has suddenly started wetting, I'd be inclined to rule out a UTI.

Sometimes wetting can be the only symptom (happened with dd)
