Am I going wrong somewhere? Night feeds?

Long story short.
5 month old is still feeding nearly bang on every three hours during the night. (Formula fed)
I have tired what MIL said and added baby porridge at night with her milk to fill her up a bit - no success.
She feeds well during the day taking a 210ml every 3-4 hours.
We then give her a 280ml at night before bed, always takes the lot!
Then during the night I used to give her another 210ml every 3 hours roughly(when she woke) but I’ve cut back on that to 120ml as SURELY she cannot be needing it?! The girlie is putting away some amount! She isn’t a big baby- petite like me!
I’m assuming she must be hungry as she is taking long sucks and always finishing her bottles and going back to sleep. I have tried a dummy, that worked for one night for an hour or two so I got maybe 5 hours before she wanted fed, but hasn’t worked since.
Any advice… or is this just the way it is? - i realise I’m very lucky she goes back to sleep straight away and other than the feeds she is sleeping for 10 hours at night.

No advice, just to say that my 9-month-old still wakes to feed every 2 hours! My eldest was the same until about 7 months when he could go for 3 hours.

Mine must have fast metabolism like me as I also have to eat fairly regularly!

Cut down one feed at a time. Reduce until it’s only 50ml, then drop it and offer a cuddle or dummy instead. Obviously if she’s starving you have to feed her but at 5 months she’s developmentally capable of going a longer stretch between feeds.

Not popular thing to say but I'd think about weaning. I had one hungry baby who was drinking ridiculous amounts of formula. Waited until 6 months to wean which I see was stupid in hindsight. They're all different. Once you know they're getting enough calories in thr day, you can start to disencorage milk at night in good conscience.

Just how some babies are wired! Mine guzzled her formula and was solid (for lack of a better word) and it's only now she is 2 that she's starting to lose some of that padding.

You're doing everything you need to by keeping her happy and fed. You may find she just suddenly sleeps through at some point without the additional feed. Mine did that when we started upping her solids during the day.

Thank you all, it’s so hard to know what to do for the best for everyone’s sanity!

Are you putting porridge into her bottle? I’m assuming not pit just in case, please don’t its very dangerous.

It’s perfectly normal for a baby that age to still need milk every 3 hours. However they shouldn’t finish their bottles, if they do you need to offer more milk at each feed.
