Do you wash the fruits before you give them to your kids?

I mean, you get a pack of strawberries or blueberries.

Do you wash them under running water or just give them to the little ones?

I always wash them to get rid of dust, dirt, soil etc. but then I have seen people that open the pack and start eating them....

If it's something different, like an orange or banana, I don't wash them.

I do it because I know I’m supposed to BUT* even reading the terrible things on this thread I just think ‘meh’ is what I was trying to say, my post above didn’t make sense.

I always do but have a distinct memory of being in my grandma's kitchen helping her make a pie. She popped a plum in her mouth and I gasped in horror and said its not been washed! She said 'you have to eat a bit of dirt before you die' one of my earliest memories 😍often comes back to me in various situations, strange the things which stick in our memory 🤔😂

Yes, of course
I cannot understand why when you have the amazing privilege of access to water you wouldn’t bother cleaning something that you know you dirty.

@SirenSays why do you wash them especially if you pick them yourself?

Yes, always wash them (well apart from things like satsumas and bananas, that get peeled).

@thinking2041 because I've seen the amount of live creepy crawlies and that come out of them. I presume that in a supermarket those bugs have mostly crawled away, been washed off, died in cold storage...

Nope, never washed fruit or veg. Horrified my mother and yet I remain unmoved.
