EBF and return to work

My baby is EBF

When I go back to work when my baby turns 1 in September I plan on feeding x 3 (ish) per day. Morning, lunch and nighttime.

So I am able to feed morning and nighttime no problem.

My working days will be Weds/Thurs/Fri so waht I’m wondering is if I miss that lunch feed for three days in a row each week without pumping will I lose the supply at that time? I don’t get on we’ll with pumping but maybe I could pump for 5 mins each side just to tell my body it still needs to make lunch time milk?

Any advice or experience would be appreciated! Many thanks

Sorry for the typos! Doing the midnight feed so one-handed!

When mine started nursery I would express but she wouldn't take the expressed milk so I just ended up dropping that daytime feed and only fed morning & nightime/overnight.

I'm saying that tho on a weekend she still has a lunchtime feed despite me not feeding during the day at all Monday-Friday so it seems to work fine for me without pumping anymore so I reckon you'll be fine.

No your supply will adjust to how you feed. With my older two I went at 9 and 10 months, used to express but stopped at when they turned 1. I just fed morning and evening and continued until they stopped around age 2.
Third baby is 10 months and I'll be back in June plan is to do the same; feed before and after work.

I went back to work 3 days when my DD was a year. Didnt bother pumping and afternoon feed was fine on the days I was not working.
I also worked 3 days.
It was a long time ago.

You won't need to pump, and your supply will adapt very quickly. You can still do the lunchtime feeds when you are off.

My child is older than yours but I work 4 days a week and still ebf. I don't pump but if I'm home and DC wants a feed whenever I've not noticed a massive change in my supply but I don't do morning feeds that often. Usually evening/throughout the night and afternoon if I'm home. Obviously everyone is different but returning to work was fine and DC isn't bothered if I'm not around for a feed.

Don't worry about breastfeeding plans for September in March. Your baby is only 6 months old now. It's another 6 months until he turns one.

Come back and ask again in mid August when you have a better idea of how well he's doing with solids and how you and he are still feeling about breastfeeding by then.

I had one who just refused to breastfeed beyond about 11 months and one that bf until 19 months and probably still would have done until they were 2 -3 years old if I hadn't wanted to stop.

I just went through this a few weeks ago but my baby was 11 months, she did a few half days at nursery and I fed her before and after, then I had planned to come round at lunch to feed her but after seeing her settle in so easily I ended up saying to nursery just call me if you think she needs it, but they've never had to. She has it before she goes at 7ish then she's there 8-4 and has it when we get home. She's totally fine, eats all her food at nursery which is probably why she can go all day without, and drinks lots of water and cow's milk while she's there.
My boobs also have felt fine during the day and I haven't pumped and my supply is there still. I was hoping it would dry up as I want to stop but no such luck 😂
