Cups / beakers / containers for taking water for baby

Which cup / container do you guys use and recommend for carrying water for your baby? We use the Tommy tippee hard spout cup for water drinking but it leaks if filled as there’s no valve. How do you guys do it to have water available for baby when on the go? Any good recommendations for bottles to use? I'm looking for something I can fill at home and use on the go, will not spill and that is easy to clean (not loads of little parts!) and that is harmless for oral development as I know some cups aren't recommended.
Thanks!

We used these 360 cups and they were amazing at not spilling but teaching to sip normally www.kidly.co.uk/products/munchkin/miracle-360-training-cup/6430

We used the free flow cups when very little, then a 360 cup. O used to fill them them put in a ziplok bag to prevent leaks in my bag.

Now he's 3.5, we have a variety of cups with straws, a sistema sports water bottle and an insulated metal thermos style cup with a straw.

You can buy various 'non spill' cups, both 360 style and sippy cup style. We used the sippy cup type ones for out and about as my DD never got the hang of how to use the 360 ones. She was bottle fed and I think the sippy cup spout was vaguely similar to a teat so she figured that out easily but was just perplexed by the 360s. At home with meals we used an open cup. We mostly switched to straw cups for out and about as soon as she was able, I can't remember exactly when that was but it was definitely over 12 months.

We use these. They are stainless steel, and don’t leak. But no straw inside either so easy to clean and it’s just open valve when top opened. The smaller size has been good so far 1-2 years.

We really like the tum tum tots straw cups, no valve and are leak proof when in the bag. I would say they leak a tiny bit when thrown (at great force!) from the high chair but not much at all.

The Munchkin 360 one. Absolutely wonderful thing!

Another vote for the tum tum straw cup here!

Thanks mum’s. I'm keen to try a 360 and also an insulated bottle of some form to be able to keep drinks such as cows milk by my bedside in case he wakes up at night wanting milk.... If anyone has any tips on insulated bottles / containers id appreciate!

@charcb we're at an early stage with weaning and learning any sippy cup is proving a lot. Have given up on 360s etc for now and just take the simple Tomy Tippee free flow with me along with a bottle of water. I fill it a bit, offer it and then empty water when done. It's a right pain, hoping we move on from this stage soon!

The sippy style cups and munchkin 360 are not particularly recommended in terms of oral development.
Valve free are the best ones and of not an open cup, then a straw cup. Also recommend the Tum tum tots straw cups.

*if not

A regular chilly type water bottle (or a flask for milk) and a small plastic cup. When ds ws really tiny, a Doidy cup. We just shared a bottle of water once he could manage a sports cap

Hugasauras · 28/03/2022 13:08

We use these, after seeing them recommended on a thread here a while ago: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08VS9YR14/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

Totally leak and spill proof and no annoying parts to disassemble to wash.

Tum tum straw cup is the best we've found so far!

SkyBlue20 · 28/03/2022 20:14

I also recommend Tum Tum!

Thank you for mentioning the Tum Tum straw cup guys! I thought I’m gonna try it and see if my LO approves and it’s been a success!
