4 year old wetting herself in day

Hi there can anyone advise please? My 4.25 year old girl who has been potty trained since she was 2.5 has started having wet accidents daily (more than once) She has been through spells of this regression then gone back to being totally dry every so often over the past couple of years but this spell seems to be severe and lasting. She hasn't had any major change in routine and I don't think she has an infection. When I talk to her about it she says that it is "boring" going to the toilet and I really think we have something that is about will/stubborness or laziness here. Had some success with star charts that I am starting again tomorrow but am so frustrated that I am having to give this level of attention/reward to something that should be normal behaviour now shouldn't it?

Help please

What is she like doing poos? If she also has problems doing poos, it could be constipation - where she's holding in the poos and has wee accidents as a result.

Is she at school? If she's not constipated then perhaps she could just be reacting to school and structure. It's tiring for them getting through to Christmas and perhaps she's just testing you and going against something that is easy for her to control?

My dd did this on and off for ages, with her it was definatley because she couldnt be bothered. It wasnt until my dh got strict with her, sat down with her and told her she was a big girl and knew what to do. so said we werent going to remind her to go and that it was up to her. But if she was wet she would sit on the stairs and then have to change herself. No shouting just being firm.If she did it when we were at the park etc we would go straight home. she has been fine for ages now. At the start praise as well when she had been dry but not to over the top. stick with it you will probabley have a few awful weeks but soon it just be a part of normal life. Good Luck I know how stressfull it can be.
