FTM here. My little one is 6m and I’ve started the blw journey. I’m just confused when to introduce meals and how much she should be eating. So far she’s been having porridge in the morning and then one food introduced in the day. We’ve tired banana, broccoli and egg so far and this was done 1 day at a time. How long do I do this for? How much should she eat? And When do I do meals? Confused!

At that age I would give my dd breakfast and dinner then introduced lunch about 7/8 months. But dinner would be a sweet potato wedge and strip of salmon so mainly about taste and texture not quantity. Breakfast would be an avocado wedge and some scrambled eggs. But I soon built up to banana pancakes for breakfast and a more substantial dinner (probably 8 months) alongside some snacky bits for lunch but my dd loves food and others aren't fussed so just depends how well they take to it. 1 year old now and days more than her 7 year old brother.
Solid starts was s great help, it's an app. And wean in 15 by Joe wickes I found really good. Good luck 🙂

The NHS website is fantastic resource for this. Babies are all different but what you are doing seems to be absolutely in accordance to the NHS. 6-7 months is mainly about introducing new foods gently to taste. It's definitely not about giving them full meals. My little one is now 8 months and have started introducing three meals a day with two bottles.

www.nhs.uk/start4life/weaning/what-to-feed-your-baby/around-6-months/ really good advice on here.
