Newborn will NOT be put down or nap?

DD is 5 months, 3.5 weeks corrected

But she's very much like any other needy newborn! She will not be put down. It's so tiring. Nighttime's okay as we co-sleep but during the day it's stressful as I'm only doing things in very very short bursts as she's screaming her head off

I hate wearing a sling to get on with things, it gets in my way

I have a disabled DS to care for on top too and it isn't fair to be holding her 24/7.

When did this pass for you? She also doesn't sleep during the day!!! I don't really notice as much at night as we co sleep but she has her 👀 open 24/7 during the day

She does not nap! What sort of newborn doesn't nap?! I know they don't sleep for long but she won't even do a few minutes. What's going on?

Would she like being swaddled? Just a thought, as it gives that feeling of security, especially if she's still a bit jerky when nodding off (which is normal of course for little babies).

Do you mean 5 weeks old?

I don't have any answers only solidarity! I'm currently holding my flappy 5 week old so she does get some sleep. She used to go down in the Moses basket no problem...then I made the mistake of saying this to others and of course now she will only be held for sleep during the day now...🙄 I thought I might get a few hours in now...nope, not going to happen 😒

Will she contact nap on you then you could gently put her down?

It might be obvious, but are you using tiredness cues? I have a five month old as well and he can only manage 90 minutes of awake time before he starts yawning and eye rubbing so he naps then.

5 months or 5 weeks?

My DS1 didn't. Absolute nightmare. What is is about the sling you don't get on with and what sort have you got? I had a close caboose and he lived in it from about 3 weeks - 3 months. Only way I could do anything, from chores, to sitting down with a cuppa.

Hi all, she's 5 months actual but 3 weeks corrected. She was born at 23 weeks. So she's still a newborn now at 5 months as her due date was only recently, if that makes sense
