Ok so I have a few questions. I have 2 boys one is 18 months one is 4 years. I'll call the younger one the baby even tho he's technically not but just for here to differentiate

So the baby is using a sippy cup with meals, when's a good time to transition up an open cup? We have tried drinking from a bottle and it goes all down him so not yet but don't want to leave it too late. Can't remember what age I did with my oldest

Also with my baby he has 2 cups of milk a day - one with lunch one with dinner then the rest of time water. Is that enough milk? He doesn't have anything at bedtime anymore as doesn't want it

With my older child, can a child in general ever have too much milk? He dislikes water as I introduced orange squash too early now he won't touch water. So I've taken to giving him milk a lot now, this is obviously better but don't want to overdo it with milk or is that even a thing?

With soren bars are they actually healthy or just healthier than chocolate?

  1. Definitely from the age of 2 years
  2. He needs 350mh calcium a day which is normally 3 portions. This includes cheese, yoghurt and forfeited bread and cereals.
  3. Soren bars are treat foods. Lots of dried fruit, like packets of raisins and they stick to teeth so dentist don’t recommend them unless they have them with/before other food.

I missed one. Too much calcium and inhibit absorption of iron so you need to make sure he isn’t having milk for an hour before/after milk and make sure he isn’t having too many calories and having a balanced diet as 8 drinks of milk a fay will add up to a lot of calories.

Hey thanks for answering

Ok so with sippy cup I'll wait a while but deffo before 2 so 6 months to crack it lol

He deffo isn't having that much milk a day, the big child I mean. He prob has about 2 glasses a day

Baby I think will be ok with his milk as alongside his 2 cups a day he also has some milk with cereal and a yogurt most days and cheese on pasta some days too

Oh I forgot a question. Tv. Ok so they watch about half hour in the morning but evenings near dinner time and after etc can sometimes be 2 hours!!! Is this terrible? They don't have any other screens. No phone obviously but no tablets or switches etc it's just the tv for screen time

This is very individual and there are loads of thread on it on MN about this and every family has there own ideas. For me 2 to 2 1/2 hours a day would be too much. I aim for 30 mins, sometimes its an hour, the occasional film or if someone is ill then most of the day is fine too.
