Simple weaning books

Can anyone recommend a** simple, easy to follow weaning book? Some of these 'simple' weaning books have recipes with ingredients I've never even heard. As a solo parent majority of the time (DP works away a lot) I haven't got the time to faff around and just need something with simple easily affordable ideas. I don't know yet whether I will do BLW or traditional weaning, I'm thinking probably a bit of both. So something that covers both.

If you’ve landed here looking for weaning cookbooks, we’ve recently updated our best weaning books page with plenty of great options for both methods of weaning, recommended by Mumsnet parents. We hope you find it useful.

I found the Rebecca Wilson (what mummy makes) books really good and there's loads of pages on Instagram which are fab for weaning. I particularly like myfirstmeals (she does recipes with 5 or less ingrediants) and babyledweaning. Also there's an app called solid starts which gives advice on how to serve near enough every type of food age appropriately- think they also have an Instagram page Smile

Weaning Made Easy by Dr Rana Conway is very down to earth, well informed and has weekly meal plans to follow (if that's what you're looking for). She talks about both approaches and takes a pragmatic, non partisan stance. I found it very helpful in the early weeks of weaning.

I highly reccomend

How to Wean Your Baby: The Step-by-step Plan to Help Your Baby Love Their Broccoli as Much as Their Cake
Book by Charlotte Stirling-Reed

Its amazing and has a 30 day clear plan on how to start and loads of recipes for the whole family for later on.

I love the Ella's Kitchen First Foods book. It's really easy, my baby loved the recipes and there's a good 'get started plan' that is not overwhelming and is easy to adapt.

Good luck!

Oh I also love the What Mummy Makes book, but not for the beginning of weaning. It's much better now my baby is 1

Thank you for the suggestions I'll check those out, I'm such a rubbish cook so I'm really dreading it!
