I have a 11 month old baby boy. He had reflux issues when he was born and problems with his poop. He screamed none stop from newborn to 6 months and would have blood in his poop. He was in so much pain it delayed his development and he had a flat head as a result. Once a doctor said to try lactose free milk he was a complete different baby. He stopped screaming and he then sat at 7 months and rolled over for the first time at 10 months old. He has just started army crawling last week. I started to wean him when he was 5 months old with puree and finger foods and he wasn't interested. Sometimes it would work and he was slightly open his mouth and manage to get a spoon in. However since he was 8 months that's when he stopped letting me spoon feed him and started throwing food onto the floor. I have tried feeding him in a highchair, floor feeding seat, just sitting on the floor on my lap. He pushes the spoon away no matter what's on it. I have tried with shop bought food and making my own from cookbooks and just giving him simple veggies ect. I have tried offering solids before milk feeds and tried giving him about 4 to 6 ounces before the solids and nothing works. The health visitors and dieticians do not know what else to try as I have done everything they would recommend. He did teeth early and he has 9 teeth at the moment. So I have assumed it was that but he takes bottles well. He has really good co ordination and can put things in his mouth. He does like the ellas kitchen puffs but that's it. The dietician also recommended trying him back on normal formula and he hasn't had any problems this time. He poops well and isn't in pain which is great. He sleeps through the night since he was 7 months. He can hold his own sippy cup of water and drink that fine but he does not hold his own bottle of milk. The dietician said he should be trying to engage in that but he isn't. I have wondered if he could be Autistic as he doesn't respond to his name and his hearing is good. He was late with things and still with solids that isn't going well. He also screams all day and he doesn't baby babble just screams so loud that I can't get on the bus or ask anyone for a lift because they can't concentrate to drive. The health visitor has said it could be a reason but it's really too early to know for sure. I look after him on my own as his father didn't want me to go through with the pregnancy. So i'm really struggling with all this as everything is down to me and i feel like i've failed my child and i'm the reason he isn't eating. Has anyone gone through this with there baby? if so did they eat ?

have you tried baby led weaning my first i tried the purees it led to her being very fussy with food but my second she eats so well..Look it up its were you just leave them to it.Just make sure what you cook is low salt ,place in front of them and let them learn to feed them selves .This is my daughter was weaning i would just dump bolenase in front of her.At first she just played with it but over time she learnt to eat from watching us,it really took the stress away

Mine was the same. He refused things that every baby apparently likes like mashed banana. I worked out that he was happier when feeding himself with drier foods like the puffs you mention. He then ate a chip from my plate one day then I tried a finger of dry toast. We worked up from there to a raspberry. Some plain pasta. Worth a try maybe. It did take a while but he got there.
