Thread Worms?

I’m looking for a bit advice. I’ve never had worms but my dd has some stringy cream coloured looking things in her poo. I don’t know if it’s just normal and I’m just over studying, maybe mucus which is normal or if it is actually worms. She’s 10 months and I’d rather not her take medication if it’s not that. They don’t move and I’ve checked her in the morning and never see anything around her bum. I wondered if anyone knew how you can determine if they really are worms?

Check her bum in the evening as that is when they come out to lay eggs. I think over the counter meds for it are not recommended under 1 so best to consult the GP if you do find worms.

My daughter had a similar appearance in her poo but it transpired her body couldn’t digest dairy. It’s unlikely to be threadworms at so young as hygiene down there is better due to constantly cleaning the area when changing nappies.

IME you don't see the worms in the poo but you will see them on their skin, and they literally look like a loose cotton thread that is there by mistake. They also definitely move.

If you can see several stringy creamy things in poo it doesn't sound like threadworms.

Also agree unlikely to have them so young, unless she has older siblings. Children pick them up by playing in dirt or being touched by a child who is infected so they have the worm eggs under their fingernails. A non-mobile baby isn't usually doing these things. Then they reinfect themselves by scratching their bum and putting their fingers in their mouth. A baby in nappies probably isn't doing this either.

We thought dams had thread worms, but it turned out to be a seeded bread that we had switched to.
