17 MO sleep regression?

DD2 is 17 months old and for the last three weeks at least, bedtime has been horrific and she has really fought her sleep. She screams and tires herself out and is over-tired and won't sleep. She's in the same room with us and has a toddler bed, but the majority of the time ends up in bed with us due to the fact she'll wake up through the night, realise she's in her own bed and screams the place down and won't settle.

Feel like we've tried everything. Routine, no routine, bath, massage, soothing voices, not giving in, giving in, everything. She's had 2 hours sleep and then proceeded to scream and shout that much upstairs that I'm now sat on the couch downstairs with her on my chest and she's trying to go to sleep, whereas upstairs she screamed the place down if I had her in exactly the same position but was lying on the bed. One time she used to settle being cradled with a blanket round her, then when that stopped she dropped off in the same position but with me stood up rocking her, now all hell breaks loose if I try to settle her that way. She screams even louder when DH tries to settle her.

When she starts I wouldn't even say it's a cry, there are no tears, its more like a temper cry, the she'll kick her legs or straighten herself out so she's tense, then she'll sob. Launches a drink if we try and give her one.

We also have a nearly 3 YO who is currently fast asleep.

Any suggestions what we can do? We both work full time and I am beyond exhausted
