Advice please

I'm currently 25 weeks pregnant, My boyfriend smokes a lot of weed (spending £500 a month), I've asked him to stop and seek professional help but he has refused. I really don't know what to do. We don't live together but obviously he'll want the baby to go to his house and when the time comes we'd look into moving in together. He's said his 'weed money' is seperate but I don't see how this could be and think it's just a way for him to not feel guilty about it, we don't have a lot of money either.

Don’t move in with him. Weed, babies and committed relationships aren’t a good combination.

Why on earth did you get yourself pregnant then OP? Great catch.

My advice would be to ditch the boyfriend. Do you really want your baby growing up with this man in their life? Don't even think about moving in with him.

oldestmumaintheworld · 01/03/2022 17:53

Oh dear. Well he's not a fit partner or suitable father if he spends all that money on drugs. He's an addict. Please don't move in with him or let him anywhere near your baby. Addicts care about nothing and noone apart from themselves.
I am sorry and hope you have a supportive family.

Not a good start ! Hardly a good role model

Ditch him, don't give the baby his surname.

what would if he decided to seek professional help should I look at the situation differently or should I leave him

Only you can answer that OP. FWIW, if he’s completely clean and supporting you emotionally, practically and financially (shouldn’t be hard if he’s able to burn £500 a month on a drug habit…) by the time the baby is here…then he might be worth a second chance. How likely is that to happen though? I wouldn’t settle for anything less and as other have said, if those conditions aren’t met I wouldn’t dream of moving in, giving the baby his surname or allowing him unsupervised access.
