Taking 9m old on holiday- tips please!

My baby will be 9.5m when we go on holiday at the start of April. We are going to Spain for a week.

He can't yet crawl (rolls everywhere) but can stand and pull himself up and walk supported now, I reckon he may be walking alone or nearly there by the time we go. He loves to move/be doing things - doesn't really do sitting still!

He is bf and on 2 meals - will probably be 3 by then. He is generally a very chilled out calm baby but I am anxious that he's going to struggle being in an unfamiliar environment.

How do you entertain a baby on a flight?! What toys should we take? Would paying for a seat for him be worth it?
Also do people pack a weeks worth of nappies or buy when on holiday?

Basically any tips for surviving please 🤣

The one thing about babies that age is that they're highly portable! We did Florida when our youngest was 9 months and he was great. I did pack a small rucksack with new small toys for the plane but Spain isn't a long flight so it won't be difficult to keep him amused I'm sure. If he does have a bit of a shouting match on the plane, ignore everyone else and try not to stress. He's a baby, babies cry so hey ho, it's not a 24 hour flight so they'll just have to deal with it.

We did take nappies, wipes and all his food as we didn't want to risk any tummy upsets but that's up to yourself.

The usual advice about pool and sun safety stand whether here or abroad.

Have a fab time!

Took ours to tenerife at 4 months and taking her again at 7.5 months next month.

She sat on our laps on the plane and napped lying down across our laps. We downloaded a peppa pig episode on our phone which is our fool proof way of stopping crying. We took enough nappies to last the week.

Ours was no different to when we’re at home but then she’s quite used to going to new places/staying somewhere that isn’t home.

My boy will be just short of a year and we decided to pay for a seat. I didn't fancy holding him for three hours and trying to stop him climbing on, pulling and harassing the person next to us🙈worked out an extra £170 but he then gets a full luggage allowance as he has a seat so we don't need to worry about that.
For the plane im going to download telly tubbies/bing as they are his favourite🙊
I'm also taking suction toys so I don't need to spend the journey picking up toys of the floor. Linkies are another good idea to clip onto the seat belt then the toy again to stop having to pick them up.

Try to book a seat towards the back of the plane, since it's generally closer to the toilet and empty seats are more common there. The engine is also a little louder, which I see as a good thing if you have a noisy baby.
On the flip side, sitting up front requires less schlepping through narrow aisles. If you plan to nurse, book a window seat so you'll have a bit more privacy.
A trick that we sometimes use is requesting the aisle and window seat as the middle seats are the last to go. You could end up with the whole row! If it doesn’t work out, whoever has been allocated the middle seat will always want to swap with one of you – so either way you’ll all end up seated together.
Don't be in a hurry to get on the plane, even if the airline invites you to board first. The less time a baby spends in a confined airplane, the better.
Your baby will probably have the toughest time during takeoff and landing when the air pressure changes. Any sort of sucking motion will help.
Pack an extra set of clothes -- for your LO and for you.
