Relaxing holiday with baby ideas

We really need some down time after some stressful months. I’d like to book us somewhere stress free where we can relax and enjoy not having to do daily chores such as cooking etc. the idea of having food prepared for us and we just turn up, plates cleared, beds made by someone else, etc is most appealing. I’d also like somewhere where we could leave baby for a couple of hours a day in some sort of daycare so that we can get a break. I’ve never been on a cruise or a resort but I’m thinking along those lines for the summer holiday. Would anyone have any recommendations on where to go? Cruise companies to book with? Resorts you liked? Xx

Take doting grandparents?
Lol. Good idea but thinking that would detract from the relaxing element. Haha.

Speaking from experience, leave your baby with grandparents and go on your own. A baby on holiday is never relaxing. Ever.

Tui blue for families hotels have baby clubs. Is your baby used to childcare though and would he be happy being left with strangers? Depending on where he's at with separation anxiety it could be a very upset handover initially and potentially not a very relaxing few hours wondering if he's okay. Not to put you off, but just to be realistic that it may not be as simple as just handing over a happy baby and going off for a sunbathe on your own.

Many of the cruise lines have babysitters on board. I used the Disney cruise line service many years ago

Haha. Another good option. But I wouldn't feel I can as he's still waking up 3-4 times so I'd feel it's a big ask.

Thank you! Yes good point. He goes to nursery where there's many carers and never really seemed to have issues (although we may be hitting separation anxiety now). I'll beat this in mind though.

I'll check cruise lines departing from Uk and look for baby sitters specifically!

Most ski resorts have creche, nobody says you have to ski. We went with a company called Ski Peak the hotel and nursery were lovely.

Actually DS learnt to walk there (11m)

Another vote for tui blue for families hotels. We are going to one but I won't be using the baby sitting as I couldn't settle leaving him with strangers. I believe they do stay and play sessions which we will use to get him out the sun. Tbh I'm not expecting a relaxing holiday but I'm looking forward to all meals prepared, not having to do chores and having a cocktail😂

Exactly my thoughts. If at least someone else can take care of the chores that's already a win in my books.

I can second ski resorts for great hotel baby care. We just got back from a week in Austria with free child care from 2pm to 10pm (they go to ski school in the morning), they give them dinner and have a full activity program. My DS loves it and always asks when we’re going back, I spend all day in the spa!

Great idea! How old is your baby? Assume they are a bit older as they go to ski school? I'll definitely consider once he's older (even if I'm no skier but a day of spa, good alpine food and walks sounds lovely!). Where did you go if you don't mind me asking?
