Oyster capsule advice

Hi everyone,

I have the oyster capsule car seat which has the normal newborn inserts and some extra head padding as well. This feels ver snug on my 1 month old and was wondering when I remove the extra padding?

Thank you

Hi, sorry just jumping on this now as having trouble! Is the wedge the bit that goes under their bum? My baby is looking super scrunched up so thinking of taking that out but nervous too. Thanks!

How old/large? There's no formal advice so you'll have to wing it a bit tbh. The wedge was the first insert to go at around 3-4 months I think

6 weeks and 12 pounds. He was looking super scrunched up with the wedge in, he head was down on his chin if that makes sense? It’s all so confusing! What are the other inserts you take out? Thank you

Sorry only just seen your reply. 6 weeks sounds very young and he's average sized. I personally find with the Capsula that babies sit low in the seat. I put my son in and then tug him down a bit, to make sure his bum is in contact with the bottom strap iyswim? If they're too upright then it doesn't look comfy.

You got the wedge, a full liner and the inner and outer head padding.

Hi, I’m really struggling with our car seat too. I think our little girl seems to sit ok in the car seat but the head supports seem really tight around her head. I don’t want to take them out because she can’t support her head all the time. Is there anyway of adjusting where they sit so they aren’t as tight. She gets very distressed when we’re putting her in the seat 😞

Hi, we had the same.. do you put the padded straps under the two head pieces? We have it so the head pads at the side end at the bottom of his ears (if that makes sense) and then the two strap pads underneath

I have the oyster 3, when do you decide to remove the wedge and the big pads that go either side of their head? My little boy absolutely hates the big pads either side and just cries hysterically in his seat but unsure if it’s safe to remove? Thank you xxx

I removed them quite early (like 1 the day we took him home from hospital as his head was too big!) provided your son looks secure when you have removed one or both, then go on ahead
